Product Overview

The Krüger&Matz KM1712 is a portable active speaker designed for various audio applications. It features a robust trolley-style casing with an extendable handle and transport wheels for easy mobility. The speaker includes a 12-inch woofer and a 1-inch tweeter for clear sound reproduction.

Control Panel

The main control panel is located on the top of the speaker, providing access to all audio adjustments and input selections.

  • OK PRI: Microphone priority switch.
  • GUITAR VOL: Adjusts the volume of the guitar input.
  • MIC VOL: Adjusts the volume of the microphone inputs.

  • TREBLE: Adjusts the high-frequency audio output.

  • AUX INPUT (L/R RCA): For connecting external audio devices via RCA cables.
  • 15V BATTERY IN: Terminal for connecting an external 12V DC battery.
  • DC 15V/2A: Power input for the included AC adapter.
  • POWER ON/OFF Switch: Turns the speaker on or off.

Setup

Powering the Speaker

  1. AC Power: Connect the power cable to the DC 15V/2A input on the rear panel and plug the other end into a standard AC outlet (100-240V~, 50/60Hz).
  2. Internal Battery: The speaker has a built-in 12V, 4Ah battery. Ensure it is charged before portable use.
  3. External Battery: For extended portable use, connect a 12V DC external battery to the '15V BATTERY IN' terminals on the rear panel.
  4. Flip the POWER ON/OFF switch to the 'ON' position to turn on the speaker.

Charging the Internal Battery

Connect the speaker to AC power using the provided adapter. The internal battery will charge automatically while the speaker is connected to AC power, regardless of whether the speaker is turned on or off. The LED display may indicate charging status.

Wireless Microphones Setup

  1. Insert batteries into each wireless microphone.
  2. Turn on the microphones using their respective power switches.
  3. The microphones will automatically pair with the speaker. Their operating frequencies are 615.15 MHz and 620.85 MHz.
  4. Adjust the 'MIC VOL' knob on the control panel to set the microphone volume.
  5. Use the 'ECHO' knob to add an echo effect to the microphone sound.

Operating Instructions

Bluetooth Mode

  1. Turn on the speaker. The LED display will show the current mode.
  2. Press the 'INPUT' button repeatedly until 'BLUE' appears on the LED display, indicating Bluetooth mode.
  3. On your mobile device (smartphone, tablet, etc.), enable Bluetooth and search for available devices.
  4. Select 'KM1712' from the list of devices to pair. A confirmation sound will indicate successful pairing.
  5. Play audio from your device. Adjust the 'MASTER VOLUME' on the speaker and the volume on your device.

USB/SD Card Playback

  1. Insert a USB flash drive into the USB port or an SD/MMC card into the SD card slot.
  2. The speaker will automatically switch to USB or SD mode and begin playing compatible audio files (MP3, WMA, WAV, AAC, FLAC, APE). If not, press 'INPUT' to select the correct mode.
  3. Use the 'PREVIOUS/VOLUME DOWN', 'NEXT/VOLUME UP', 'PLAY/PAUSE', 'REPEAT', and '10+' buttons to control playback.

FM Radio Mode

  1. Press the 'INPUT' button repeatedly until 'FM' appears on the LED display.
  2. Press and hold the 'PLAY/PAUSE/AUTO' button to initiate an automatic scan for FM stations. The speaker will save all found stations.
  3. Use the 'PREVIOUS/VOLUME DOWN' and 'NEXT/VOLUME UP' buttons to navigate through the saved stations.

AUX Input

  1. Connect an external audio device (e.g., CD player, laptop) to the 'AUX INPUT' RCA ports on the rear panel using appropriate cables.
  2. Press the 'INPUT' button until 'AUX' mode is selected.
  3. Play audio from your connected device. Adjust volume using the 'MASTER VOLUME' knob on the speaker and the volume control on your external device.

Microphone and Guitar Inputs

  1. Connect a wired microphone to the 'MIC' 6.3mm jack or a guitar to the 'GUITAR' 6.3mm jack on the control panel.
  2. Adjust the 'MIC VOL' and 'GUITAR VOL' knobs to set the individual volumes.
  3. Use the 'ECHO' knob to apply an echo effect to the microphone.
  4. The 'OK PRI' switch enables microphone priority, lowering background music volume when the microphone is in use.

Tone Control

Use the 'BASS' and 'TREBLE' knobs on the control panel to adjust the low and high frequencies of the audio output to your preference.

Maintenance

Cleaning

  • Always unplug the speaker from the power source before cleaning.
  • Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe the exterior surfaces of the speaker.
  • Do not use liquid cleaners, aerosol sprays, or harsh chemicals, as they may damage the finish or internal components.
  • Keep the ventilation openings clear of dust and debris.

Storage

  • When not in use for extended periods, store the speaker in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
  • If storing for a long time, ensure the internal battery is partially charged (around 50%) to prolong its lifespan. Recharge every few months if not used.
