Front Panel Controls:

Setup

Powering the Unit

The SB2149B offers three power options:

  1. AC Power: Connect the included AC power adaptor to the AC power input jack on the unit and then to a standard AC wall outlet.
  2. Battery Power: Open the battery compartment on the rear of the unit. Insert the required batteries (type and quantity specified inside the compartment, typically D-cell batteries), ensuring correct polarity. Close the compartment securely.
  3. 12V Car/Boat Adaptor: Connect the included 12V car/boat adaptor to the DC input jack (if available, or AC input with appropriate adaptor) and then to your vehicle's 12V power outlet.

When using AC power, batteries are automatically disconnected. Remove batteries if the unit will not be used for an extended period.

Operating Instructions

General Operation

  • Power On/Off: Press the Power button to turn the unit on or off.
  • Volume Adjustment: Rotate the Volume knob to increase or decrease the sound level.
  • Tone Control: Use the Treble and Bass rotary knobs to adjust the audio's high and low frequencies to your preference.
  • Mode Selection: Press the Mode button repeatedly to cycle through available input sources: Bluetooth, CD, USB, AM, FM, and AUX.

Bluetooth Operation

  1. Turn on the boombox and press the Mode button to select Bluetooth mode. The LED display will indicate 'BT' and a pairing indicator will flash.
  2. Enable Bluetooth on your mobile device (smartphone, tablet, etc.) and search for available devices.
  3. Select "SB2149B" from the list of devices. Once paired, the unit will emit a confirmation tone, and the Bluetooth indicator will stop flashing.
  4. You can now play audio from your device through the boombox. Use the boombox's Play/Pause and Skip buttons, or your device's controls, to manage playback.

CD Player Operation

  1. Press the Mode button to select CD mode.
  2. Press the OPEN button on the CD compartment to open the CD door.
  3. Carefully place a CD (audio CD, CD-R/RW, or MP3 CD) onto the spindle with the label side facing up.
  4. Close the CD door. The unit will read the disc, and the total number of tracks will appear on the display.
  5. Press the Play/Pause button to start playback.
  6. Use the Skip buttons (◀◀ / ▶▶) to navigate between tracks. Press and hold to fast forward or rewind within a track.
  7. Press the Stop button to stop playback.
  8. Programmable Tracks: Refer to the full owner's manual for detailed instructions on programming CD tracks.

USB MP3 Playback

  1. Press the Mode button to select USB mode.
  2. Insert a USB flash drive containing MP3 audio files into the USB port.
  3. The unit will automatically detect and begin playing the MP3 files.
  4. Use the Play/Pause, Stop, and Skip buttons to control playback, similar to CD operation.

AM/FM Radio Operation

  1. Press the Mode button to select AM or FM radio mode.
  2. Extend the telescopic FM antenna for optimal FM reception. For AM reception, the unit has a built-in antenna, so adjust the unit's position for best signal.
  3. Rotate the Tuning knob to manually select your desired radio station. The frequency will be displayed on the LED screen.

Auxiliary Input (AUX IN)

  1. Press the Mode button to select AUX mode.
  2. Connect one end of a 3.5mm audio cable (not included) to the AUX IN jack on the boombox.
  3. Connect the other end of the cable to the headphone jack or audio output of your external audio device (e.g., smartphone, MP3 player).
  4. Play audio from your external device. The sound will be routed through the boombox speakers. Control playback and volume primarily from your external device.

LED Equalizer and Light Show

  • The multi-color LED equalizer display provides a visual representation of the audio output.
  • Press the 'Light Show' button to toggle the dynamic light effects on or off.

Maintenance

Care and Cleaning

  • Always unplug the unit from the power source before cleaning.
  • Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the exterior surfaces. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • For the CD lens, use a specialized CD lens cleaner disc. Do not touch the lens directly.
