Method 2: Web Browser Setup
- Plug In: Plug the rockspace WiFi Extender into an electrical outlet. Wait for the Power LED to turn solid blue.
- Connect to Extender's Network: On your computer or mobile device, connect to the Wi-Fi network named "rockspace_EXT" (or similar, check the label on the device). No password is required initially.
- Open Web Browser: Open a web browser (e.g., Chrome, Safari) and type

- Select Wi-Fi Network: The extender will scan for available Wi-Fi networks. Select your existing Wi-Fi network (SSID) from the list.
- Enter Password: Enter the password for your existing Wi-Fi network.
- Confirm and Extend: Confirm the settings and click "Extend" or "Apply". The extender will now connect to your router and create extended networks (e.g., "YourNetworkName_EXT" or "YourNetworkName_5G_EXT").
- Relocate (Optional): Unplug the extender and move it to a suitable location. Ensure the Signal LED is solid blue for a good connection.
Operating the Extender
Once set up, the rockspace WiFi Extender operates automatically to extend your Wi-Fi signal.
Indicator Lights
- Power LED: Indicates the power status. Solid blue means powered on.
- Signal LED: Indicates the signal strength from your router.
- Solid Blue: Good connection.
- Solid Red: Weak connection or too far from the router.
- Blinking: Connecting or WPS process active.
Connecting Devices
Devices can connect to the extended Wi-Fi network using the new SSID (e.g., "YourNetworkName_EXT"). The password for the extended network is the same as your original Wi-Fi network.

Access Point Mode
The extender can also function in Access Point (AP) mode. In this mode, it connects to your router via an Ethernet cable and broadcasts a new Wi-Fi signal, effectively turning a wired connection into a wireless hotspot.

Signal Extension
The extender intelligently re-broadcasts your Wi-Fi signal to cover areas with weak or no reception, creating a seamless network experience throughout your home.

Maintenance
- Optimal Placement: For best performance, place the extender in a location where it receives a strong signal from your main router (Signal LED solid blue) and can effectively cover the desired area. Avoid placing it near large metal objects, microwaves, or other sources of interference.
- Firmware Updates: Periodically check the rockspace official website for firmware updates to ensure optimal performance and security.
- Cleaning: Clean the device with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use liquid cleaners or aerosols.
Troubleshooting
Common Issues and Solutions
- No Power/LEDs Off: Ensure the extender is securely plugged into a working electrical outlet. Try a different outlet.
- Signal LED is Red: The extender is too far from your main router or there is significant interference. Move the extender closer to the router until the Signal LED turns solid blue.
- Cannot Connect to "rockspace_EXT" Network: Unplug and replug the extender. Wait for it to restart. If the issue persists, perform a factory reset (refer to the full user manual for reset instructions).
- Extended Network Not Visible: Ensure the extender is powered on and the Signal LED is solid blue. If using web browser setup, ensure you completed all steps.
- Slow Speed on Extended Network:
- The extender only extends coverage; it cannot boost your original router's speed.
- Ensure optimal placement (Signal LED solid blue).
- 5GHz band offers faster speeds but has less penetration through walls compared to 2.4GHz. Consider using the 2.4GHz band if there are many obstacles.
- Reduce the number of connected devices if too many are simultaneously streaming or downloading.
- WPS Setup Failed: Try the web browser setup method. Ensure you press the WPS buttons on both the router and extender within the specified time frame.
