3. Safety Information
- For indoor dry locations use only.
- Ensure power is OFF at the circuit breaker before installation.
- Installation should be performed by a qualified electrician if you are unsure.
- This switch requires a neutral wire for operation.
- Only connect to a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network. 5GHz networks are not supported.
- This is a single-pole switch and is not compatible with 3-way or multi-way switch configurations.
4. Installation
Before beginning installation, ensure you have the necessary tools: screwdriver, wire strippers, voltage tester, and electrical tape.
- Turn Off Power: Locate the circuit breaker that controls the switch you are replacing and turn it OFF. Verify power is off using a voltage tester.
- Remove Old Switch: Carefully remove the existing wall plate and unscrew the old switch from the wall box.
- Identify Wires: Identify the Line (hot), Load, Neutral, and Ground wires. The Martin Jerry Smart Switch requires a neutral wire.
- Line Wire: Typically black, carries power from the circuit breaker.
- Load Wire: Typically black, carries power to the light fixture or device.
- Neutral Wire: Typically white, provides a return path for current. This is essential for the smart switch.
- Ground Wire: Typically green or bare copper, for safety.
- Connect New Switch: Connect the wires from your wall box to the corresponding wires on the Martin Jerry Smart Switch using wire nuts.
- Connect the Line wire to the Line terminal on the smart switch.
- Connect the Load wire to the Load terminal on the smart switch.
- Connect the Neutral wire to the Neutral terminal on the smart switch.
- Connect the Ground wire to the Ground terminal on the smart switch.
- Mount Switch: Carefully push the connected wires back into the wall box and secure the smart switch with screws.
- Install Wall Plate: Attach the new wall plate.
- Restore Power: Turn the power back ON at the circuit breaker.

5. Setup (App & Voice Control)
5.1 Smart Life App Setup
- Download App: Download the "Smart Life" app from the App Store (iOS) or Google Play Store (Android).
- Register/Login: Open the app and register for a new account or log in if you already have one.
- Add Device: Tap the "+" icon in the top right corner to add a device. Select "Electrical" then "Switch (Wi-Fi)".
- Enter Wi-Fi Details: Ensure your phone is connected to a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network. Enter your Wi-Fi password.
- Pairing Mode: On the smart switch, press and hold the main button for 5-10 seconds until the indicator light blinks rapidly. This indicates pairing mode.
- Connect: In the app, confirm the indicator is blinking rapidly and proceed. The app will search for and connect to the switch.
- Rename Device: Once connected, you can rename the switch (e.g., "Living Room Light") for easier control.
5.2 Voice Control Setup (Alexa/Google Home)
To enable voice control, you need to link your Smart Life account to your Amazon Alexa or Google Home app.
For Amazon Alexa:
- Open the Amazon Alexa app.
- Go to "Skills & Games".
- Search for "Smart Life" and enable the skill.
- Link your Smart Life account when prompted.
- Discover devices (Alexa will automatically find your smart switch).
- You can now control your switch with commands like, "Alexa, turn on Living Room Light."
For Google Home:
- Open the Google Home app.
- Tap "+" > "Set up device" > "Works with Google".

6. Operation
