1. Product Overview

The Firecore FRE205R is a high-performance rotating laser level designed for precise leveling and surveying tasks in various construction and outdoor environments. It features electronic automatic leveling, a wide operating range, and a robust, dustproof and waterproof design to ensure reliable performance even in harsh conditions.

2. Safety Instructions

This device uses a Class 2 laser. Please observe the following safety precautions:

• Do not stare directly into the laser beam.
• Avoid directing the laser beam at other people or reflective surfaces.
• Use the device only as described in this manual.
• Keep the device out of reach of children.
• Ensure the pendulum is locked during transport to prevent damage.

5. Setup

5.1 Initial Inspection

Before first use, inspect the device for any visible damage. Ensure the battery compartment is securely closed.

5.2 Battery Installation and Charging

1. The Lithium battery is typically pre-installed. If not, insert it into the battery compartment.
2. Connect the charger to the device's charging port and plug it into an AC outlet. The LED indicator will show charging status.
3. For extended use, ensure the Ni-MH batteries are also charged.

5.3 Mounting the Device

The FRE205R can be mounted on a tripod for stable operation.

1. Extend the tripod legs and ensure it is stable on a flat surface.
2. Securely attach the laser level to the tripod using the threaded mount on the bottom of the unit.
3. Adjust the tripod height as needed.

6. Operation

6.1 Powering On and Automatic Leveling

1. Unlock the pendulum by sliding the lock switch to the unlocked position.
2. Press the power switch button. The device will automatically begin self-leveling.
3. Once leveled (within ±5°), the laser beam will stabilize and rotate. If the device is outside its self-leveling range, the laser will flash and/or an alarm will sound.

6.2 Adjusting Rotation Speed and Scan Angle

Use the control panel or remote control to adjust the rotation speed (0, 60, 120, 300, 600 r.p.m) and scan angle (0°, 10°, 45°, 90°, 180°).

6.3 Using the Receiver (FRD100)

For outdoor use or when the laser beam is difficult to see, use the FRD100 receiver.

1. Attach the FRD100 receiver to the grade rod using the rod clamp.
2. Turn on the receiver.
3. Move the receiver along the grade rod until it detects the laser beam. The receiver will indicate when it is aligned with the laser.

7. Power and Charging

The FRE205R is powered by a Lithium battery and can also use Ni-MH batteries. It offers approximately 20 hours of continuous operation.

• The device can be charged directly from an AC power source using the provided charger.
• Charging is possible even when the device is inside its storage case or mounted on a tripod.

8. Maintenance and Care

8.1 Cleaning

Wipe the device with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.

8.2 Storage

Store the device in its original case in a dry, cool place. Ensure the pendulum is locked before storage or transport.

8.3 Durability

The robust design and IP65 rating protect the device from dust and water. It is designed to withstand drops from 1 meter onto concrete and falls from 1.5 meters when mounted on a tripod.

9. Troubleshooting

• Laser Flashing/Alarm Sounding: This indicates the device is outside its self-leveling range (±5°). Adjust the device's position until it is within range and the laser stabilizes.
• No Laser Beam: Check if the device is powered on and the pendulum is unlocked. Ensure batteries are charged.
• Weak Laser Beam: For outdoor or bright conditions, use the FRD100 receiver to detect the laser.
