1. Introduction

Physical Buttons and Ports:

3. Setup

3.1 Initial Charge

3.2 Powering On/Off

  • To Power On: Press and hold the Power button until the screen activates.
  • To Power Off: Press and hold the Power button until a power-off menu appears, then select "Power Off".

3.3 Wi-Fi Connection

4. Operating the inkBOOK Lumos

4.1 Navigating the Interface

The inkBOOK Lumos features a touch-sensitive E Ink screen. You can navigate by tapping, swiping, and pinching.

  • Home Screen: Displays your library, recently read books, and quick access icons.
  • Library: Organizes all your ebooks. You can sort by title, author, or date.
  • Settings: Access device configurations, including Wi-Fi, display, and system information.

4.2 Reading Books

  1. To open a book, tap its cover in your library or on the home screen.
  2. To turn pages, tap the right side of the screen, swipe right, or use the physical page-turn buttons. Tap the left side or swipe left to go back.
  3. To access reading options (font size, line spacing, etc.), tap the center of the screen while reading.

4.3 Adjusting Frontlight

The inkBOOK Lumos features an adjustable frontlight with color temperature management:

  • Swipe down from the top of the screen to access the quick settings panel.
  • Locate the brightness and color temperature sliders.
  • Adjust the sliders to your preferred brightness and warmth. A warmer light (yellowish) is often preferred for evening reading.

4.4 Transferring Books

You can transfer ebooks to your inkBOOK Lumos via USB connection:

  1. Connect your inkBOOK Lumos to your computer using the USB cable.
  2. Your device will appear as a removable storage device on your computer.
  3. Drag and drop your ebook files (e.g., ePub, MOBI, PDF) into the "Books" or "Documents" folder on your inkBOOK Lumos.
  4. Safely eject the device from your computer before disconnecting the USB cable.

4.5 Installing Android Applications

The inkBOOK Lumos runs on an Android-based OS, allowing for the installation of compatible Android applications (APKs). Please note that not all Android apps are optimized for E Ink screens or the device's hardware.

  1. Ensure your device is connected to Wi-Fi.
  2. Open the pre-installed app store or a web browser to download APK files.
  3. Navigate to the downloaded APK file (usually in the "Downloads" folder).
  4. Tap the APK file to begin installation. You may need to enable "Install from unknown sources" in your device's security settings.
  5. Follow the on-screen prompts to complete the installation.

5. Maintenance

5.1 Cleaning the Device

  • Use a soft, lint-free cloth to gently wipe the screen and body of the device.
  • For stubborn smudges, slightly dampen the cloth with water. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive materials.
  • Avoid getting moisture into ports or openings.

5.2 Battery Care

  • Charge the device regularly, but avoid leaving it fully discharged for extended periods.
