4. Maintenance
4.1 Cleaning
To clean your remote control, use a soft, slightly damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners, solvents, or harsh chemicals, as these can damage the remote's surface or internal components. Ensure no liquid enters the remote.
4.2 Battery Replacement
When the remote's performance degrades or the indicator light does not illuminate, it's time to replace the batteries. Always replace both AAA batteries simultaneously with new ones. Dispose of old batteries according to local regulations.
5. Troubleshooting
- Remote not working after programming:
- Ensure the device is turned ON and the remote is pointed directly at it.
- Verify that the correct device button (TV, DVD, CBL, AUX) is selected on the remote.
- Try another code from the code list for your device brand. Some brands have multiple codes.
- Ensure batteries are fresh and inserted with correct polarity.
- Some functions not working:
- This often indicates that the current code is not fully compatible. Try another code for your device brand using either Automatic Code Search or Direct Code Entry.
- Remote is unresponsive:
- Check battery levels and replace if necessary.
- Ensure there are no obstructions between the remote and the device's infrared sensor.
- Not compatible with Roku Streaming Sticks or Amazon Fire TV/Sticks:
- This remote operates using infrared (IR) signals and is not designed for radio frequency (RF) devices like many streaming sticks. This is normal operation and not a malfunction.
