2. Setup

3.2 Transferring Files
Once unlocked and connected to your computer, the Apricorn ASK3-NX functions like a standard USB flash drive. You can drag and drop files into the drive's folder or use copy-paste functions to transfer data.
3.3 Safely Ejecting and Locking the Drive
To ensure data integrity and security, always safely eject the drive from your computer before physical removal. Once ejected, the drive will automatically lock, encrypting all stored data.
3.4 Read-Only Modes

WARNING: If you forget your Administrator or User PINs, there is no way to recover the encrypted data. The device is designed with robust security features that prevent data access without the correct PINs. Apricorn cannot assist in PIN recovery.

If the drive is not recognized after unlocking and connecting:
- Ensure the drive is fully inserted into the USB port.
- Try a different USB port on your computer.

5.4 Brute-Force Protection
The device features brute-force protection. After a certain number of consecutive incorrect PIN entries, the drive will automatically wipe all data and reset to factory defaults to protect against unauthorized access. This action is irreversible.
