Maintenance and Cleaning
1. Daily Cleaning
- Unplug the coffee maker and allow it to cool completely before cleaning.
- Wash the thermal carafe, filter holder, and lid with warm soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry.
- Wipe the exterior of the coffee maker with a damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or scourers.
2. Descaling
Over time, mineral deposits (limescale) can build up in your coffee maker, affecting performance and coffee taste. Descale your appliance regularly, depending on water hardness and frequency of use (e.g., every 2-3 months).
- Use a commercially available descaling solution suitable for coffee makers, following the manufacturer's instructions.
- Alternatively, you can use a solution of white vinegar and water (1 part vinegar to 2 parts water).
- Run a full brewing cycle with the descaling solution (without coffee).
- After descaling, run at least two full cycles with fresh water to rinse out any residual descaling solution.
