  2. Clean the glass carafe, its lid, and the removable filter holder with warm water and a mild detergent. Rinse thoroughly.
  3. Wipe the exterior of the coffee machine with a damp cloth.

4.2 First Use (Rinsing Cycle)

Before brewing coffee for the first time, perform a rinsing cycle to clean the internal components:

  1. Fill the water tank with cold, fresh water up to the maximum mark (1.25 Liters).
  2. Place the empty glass carafe with its lid on the warming plate.
  3. Press the On/Off switch. The machine will start a brewing cycle with only water.
  4. Once the cycle is complete, discard the water from the carafe.
  5. Repeat this process once or twice to ensure thorough cleaning.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Brewing Coffee

  1. Fill Water: Open the lid and fill the water tank with the desired amount of cold, fresh water. The water level markings on the tank indicate cups (e.g., 1.25 Liters capacity).
  2. Insert Filter: Place a standard paper coffee filter (size 1x4 or similar, depending on model specifics) into the removable filter holder. Alternatively, if your model includes a reusable filter, insert that.
  3. Add Coffee: Add the desired amount of ground coffee into the filter. A general guideline is one level tablespoon of coffee per cup (150ml). Adjust to personal taste.
  4. Position Carafe: Ensure the glass carafe with its lid is correctly placed on the warming plate. The lid activates the drip stop mechanism.
  5. Start Brewing: Press the On/Off switch. The indicator light will illuminate, and the brewing process will begin.
  6. Serving: Once brewing is complete, the warming plate will keep the coffee warm. The machine typically switches off automatically after 40 minutes.

6. Cleaning and Maintenance

6.1 Daily Cleaning

Regular cleaning ensures optimal performance and taste:

  • Always unplug the appliance and allow it to cool down before cleaning.
  • Remove the filter holder and discard the used coffee filter and grounds.
  • Wash the glass carafe, its lid, and the filter holder with warm soapy water. These parts are generally dishwasher safe (refer to specifications).
  • Wipe the exterior of the coffee machine with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or scouring pads.

6.2 Descaling

Limescale buildup can affect performance and coffee taste. Descale your machine regularly, depending on water hardness and frequency of use (e.g., every 2-3 months).

  1. Use a commercially available descaling agent suitable for coffee machines, following the manufacturer's instructions.
  2. Alternatively, a solution of white vinegar and water (1:2 ratio) can be used.
  3. Fill the water tank with the descaling solution.
  4. Place the empty glass carafe on the warming plate.
  5. Start a brewing cycle. Allow about half of the solution to run through, then switch off the machine and let it sit for 15-20 minutes.
  6. Switch the machine back on and let the remaining solution run through.
  7. After descaling, run at least two full cycles with fresh, clean water to rinse out any descaling agent residue.
