The WISRETEC Digital Torque Adapter converts any standard ratchet wrench into a digital torque wrench, offering the same functionality as a dedicated digital torque wrench. 5. Setup

5.1 Battery Installation

  1. Locate the battery compartment cover on the back or side of the adapter.
  2. Open the cover.
  3. Insert 2 AA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-).
  4. Close the battery compartment cover securely.

5.2 Attaching to a Ratchet Wrench

  1. Select a ratchet wrench with a compatible square drive size (e.g., 1/2 inch for the 200NM model).
  2. Insert the square drive of the digital torque adapter into the drive of the ratchet wrench. Ensure it clicks into place securely.
  3. Attach the appropriate socket to the square drive of the digital torque adapter.

6. Operating Instructions

6.1 Power ON/OFF

  • To turn on: Press the Power ON/OFF button. The display will illuminate.
  • To turn off: Press and hold the Power ON/OFF button for a few seconds until the display turns off. The device will also automatically shut down after 80 seconds of inactivity to conserve battery.

6.2 Mode Selection (Peak / Trace)

  • Press the Peak/Trace button to switch between modes.
  • Trace Mode: Displays the real-time torque value as it is being applied.
  • Peak Hold Mode: Captures and displays the maximum torque value reached during the application. The display will hold this peak value until reset or a higher peak is detected.

6.3 Unit Selection

  • Press the UNIT button to cycle through the available torque units: N.m, kgf.m, kgf.cm, Ft.LB, IN.LB.
  • The selected unit will be displayed on the screen.

6.4 Setting Target Torque

This function is typically used in Peak Hold mode for pre-setting a desired torque value.

  1. Ensure the adapter is in Peak Hold mode.
  2. Use the (+) and (-) buttons to adjust the target torque value.
  3. The display will show the set target value.

6.5 Torque Measurement

  1. With the adapter attached to a ratchet wrench and socket, place the socket onto the fastener.
  2. Apply force to the ratchet wrench. The display will show the applied torque.
  3. If a target torque was set, the LED and buzzer will activate as you approach and reach the target value, indicating when to stop applying force.

7. Maintenance

7.1 Cleaning

  • Wipe the adapter with a soft, dry cloth.
  • Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents, as they may damage the display or housing.

7.2 Storage

  • Store the adapter in its original plastic storage case to protect it from dust, moisture, and impact.
  • Remove batteries if the device will not be used for an extended period to prevent battery leakage.
  • Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.

8. Troubleshooting

8.1 Low Battery Warning

  • If a low battery indicator appears on the display, replace the 2 AA batteries immediately to ensure accurate readings and proper operation.

8.2 Inaccurate Readings

  • Ensure the adapter is properly calibrated (refer to inspection report for factory calibration).
  • Check that the socket and ratchet wrench are securely attached.
  • Verify that the correct torque unit is selected.

8.3 Device Not Turning On

  • Check battery installation and ensure batteries are fresh.
  • Ensure the battery compartment cover is closed properly.
