1. Introduction

2. Safety Information

Controls and Indicators:
- Main Footswitch: Used for starting/stopping beats, adding fills, and transitions.

5. Setup
Follow these steps to set up your BeatBuddy MINI 2:
- Power Connection: Connect a 9V DC center-negative power adapter to the DC IN jack on the BeatBuddy MINI 2. Plug the adapter into a power outlet.
- Audio Input: If you are using an instrument or another pedal before the BeatBuddy MINI 2, connect its output to the INPUT jack on the BeatBuddy MINI 2 using a 1/4" instrument cable.
- Audio Output: Connect the OUTPUT jack of the BeatBuddy MINI 2 to your amplifier, mixer, or the next pedal in your signal chain using a 1/4" instrument cable.
- Optional Footswitch: If you have an optional external footswitch, connect it to the FOOTSWITCH jack. Refer to the external footswitch's manual for specific functions.
- Power On: The BeatBuddy MINI 2 will power on automatically once connected to power. The display screen will illuminate.
Note: For optimal sound quality, it is recommended to connect the BeatBuddy MINI 2 to a full-range sound system (e.g., PA system, acoustic guitar amplifier, or headphones) rather than a standard electric guitar amplifier, which is voiced for guitar frequencies.
6. Operating Instructions
6.1 Basic Operation
- Start Beat: Press the Main Footswitch once to start the beat. An intro will play if enabled.
- Add Drum Fill: While the beat is playing, press the Main Footswitch once to add a drum fill.
- Transition: While the beat is playing, press and hold the Main Footswitch to initiate a transition to the next song part. Release the footswitch to complete the transition.
- Stop Beat: To stop the beat, press the Main Footswitch twice quickly (double-tap). An outro will play if enabled.
6.2 Selecting Genres and Songs
- Enter Selection Mode: Press the GENRE/SONG/TEMPO knob. The display will show "GENRE" and the current genre name.
- Select Genre: Rotate the GENRE/SONG/TEMPO knob to scroll through available genres.
- Select Song: Press the GENRE/SONG/TEMPO knob again. The display will show "SONG" and the current song name. Rotate the knob to scroll through songs within the selected genre.
- Exit Selection Mode: Press the GENRE/SONG/TEMPO knob a third time to return to tempo adjustment, or simply wait a few seconds for the display to revert to the main screen.
6.3 Adjusting Tempo
- Enter Tempo Mode: Press the GENRE/SONG/TEMPO knob until "TEMPO" is displayed.
- Adjust Tempo: Rotate the GENRE/SONG/TEMPO knob to increase or decrease the beats per minute (BPM).
- Tap Tempo: Alternatively, you can tap the Main Footswitch multiple times (at least twice) before starting a beat to set the tempo. The BeatBuddy MINI 2 will average your taps to determine the tempo.
6.4 Adjusting Volume
Rotate the VOLUME knob clockwise to increase the drum volume and counter-clockwise to decrease it. Adjust to a comfortable listening level.
7. Maintenance
- Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the exterior of the BeatBuddy MINI 2. Do not use abrasive cleaners, solvents, or waxes.
- Storage: When not in use for extended periods, store the unit in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
