Setup and Installation

Proper installation is crucial for the safety and performance of your TV wall mount. Follow these steps carefully.

Tools Required (Not Included):

  • Stud Finder
  • Drill with appropriate drill bits (e.g., 1/4" for wood studs, 3/8" for concrete/brick)
  • Level
  • Phillips Head Screwdriver
  • Socket Wrench or Adjustable Wrench
  • Pencil
  • Measuring Tape

Installation Steps:

  1. Prepare the TV:

Carefully place your TV face down on a soft, clean surface to prevent scratches. Locate the VESA mounting holes on the back of your TV. Attach the TV mounting brackets to the back of your TV using the appropriate screws, washers, and spacers from the hardware kit. Ensure the brackets are securely fastened and centered.

  2. Locate Wall Studs:

Using a stud finder, locate the center of two adjacent wood studs in the desired mounting location. Mark the stud centers with a pencil. Ensure the chosen location is at the desired viewing height and free of electrical wires or plumbing.

  3. Mount the Wall Plate:

Hold the wall plate of the mount against the wall, aligning the mounting holes with the marked stud centers. Use a level to ensure the wall plate is perfectly horizontal. Mark the drill points. Drill pilot holes at the marked locations. Secure the wall plate to the wall using the provided lag bolts and washers. Tighten firmly, but do not overtighten.

  4. Hang the TV:

  5. Cable Management:

Connect all necessary cables (including the bonus HDMI cable) to your TV. Route cables neatly along the articulating arm using cable ties or clips (not included) to prevent snagging when adjusting the TV position.

Operating Instructions

The DuraPro Full Motion Articulating TV Wall Mount offers versatile positioning for your display.

  • Extension: Gently pull the TV away from the wall to extend the arm up to 19 inches.
  • Swivel: Carefully pivot the TV left or right up to 180 degrees to adjust the horizontal viewing angle.
  • Tilt: Loosen the tilt adjustment knobs (if present) or apply gentle pressure to tilt the TV screen up or down by up to 12 degrees. Retighten knobs if applicable after adjustment.
  • Folding Back: Push the TV gently back towards the wall until the mount is in its most compact position for a sleek, flushed look. Ensure cables are not pinched.

Always move the TV smoothly and avoid sudden jerks. Do not force the mount beyond its intended range of motion.

Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and safe operation of your wall mount.

  • Cleaning: Wipe the mount with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Fastener Check: Periodically (e.g., every 6 months) check all screws and bolts, especially those securing the mount to the wall and the TV to the mount, to ensure they are tight. Retighten if necessary.
  • Movement Check: Test the articulating arm's movement to ensure it operates smoothly. If movement becomes stiff, a small amount of silicone-based lubricant can be applied to the pivot points, avoiding contact with the TV or wall.
