1. Introduction

Thank you for purchasing the Brentwood BF-315 Buffet Server and Warming Tray. This appliance is designed to keep food warm for extended periods, making it ideal for entertaining or family meals. It features three 1.5-quart stainless steel buffet pans with clear, heat-resistant lids, and can also be used as a standalone warming tray. The unit operates at 180 watts and includes adjustable heat control and cool-touch side handles for safe handling.

2. Important Safety Instructions

Please read all instructions carefully before using this appliance and retain for future reference.

  • Do not touch hot surfaces. Use handles or knobs.
  • To protect against electrical shock, do not immerse cord, plugs, or the appliance in water or other liquid.
  • Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is used by or near children.
  • Unplug from outlet when not in use and before cleaning. Allow to cool before putting on or taking off parts.
  • Do not operate any appliance with a damaged cord or plug, or after the appliance malfunctions or has been damaged in any manner.

3. Setup and Assembly

Before first use, ensure all packaging materials are removed. Wash the buffet pans and lids in warm, soapy water, rinse thoroughly, and dry completely. Wipe the warming tray base with a damp cloth.

  1. Place the warming tray base on a stable, heat-resistant, and dry surface.
  2. If using as a buffet server, place the water tray (if included) onto the warming base.
  3. Insert the three 1.5-quart stainless steel buffet pans into the designated slots on the warming base.
  4. Place the clear, heat-resistant lids on top of the buffet pans. The lids feature spoon cut-outs for serving convenience.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1. Using as a Buffet Server

  1. Prepare your food and place it into the three 1.5-quart stainless steel buffet pans.
  2. Place the pans with food onto the warming base. Cover with the clear lids.
  3. Plug the appliance into a standard electrical outlet. The power indicator light will illuminate.
  4. Turn the adjustable heat control knob to your desired setting: LOW, MED, or HIGH.
  5. Allow approximately 10-15 minutes for the unit to reach the desired temperature.
  6. The unit will maintain the food at a warm serving temperature. Do not use for cooking raw food.
  7. When finished, turn the heat control knob to OFF and unplug the unit from the outlet.

4.2. Using as a Warming Tray

The buffet pans and water tray can be removed to use the unit as a 9" x 17" warming tray for finger foods or other dishes.

  1. Ensure the unit is unplugged and cool. Carefully remove the buffet pans and water tray.
  2. Place heat-safe dishes directly onto the warming surface.
  3. Plug the appliance into a standard electrical outlet. The power indicator light will illuminate.
  4. Turn the adjustable heat control knob to your desired setting: LOW, MED, or HIGH.
  5. The warming tray will keep your dishes warm.
  6. When finished, turn the heat control knob to OFF and unplug the unit from the outlet.

5. Maintenance and Cleaning

Proper cleaning and maintenance will ensure the longevity of your buffet server and warming tray.

  1. Always unplug the unit from the electrical outlet and allow it to cool completely before cleaning.
  2. Buffet Pans and Lids: Wash the stainless steel buffet pans and clear lids in warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry immediately to prevent water spots. These parts may also be dishwasher safe (check product packaging for confirmation).
  3. Warming Tray Base: Wipe the warming tray base with a soft, damp cloth. For stubborn stains, use a mild non-abrasive cleaner. Do not immerse the base in water or any other liquid.
  4. Do not use abrasive cleaners, scouring pads, or harsh chemicals on any part of the appliance, as this may damage the finish.
  5. Ensure all parts are completely dry before storing or reusing the appliance.

6. Troubleshooting

Problem Possible Cause Solution
Appliance does not turn on. Not plugged in; power outlet not working; unit is off. Ensure the power cord is securely plugged into a working outlet. Check if the heat control knob is turned to an ON position (LOW, MED, HIGH).
Food is not warm enough. Heat setting is too low; unit not preheated long enough; lids not properly placed. Increase the heat setting. Allow 10-15 minutes for preheating. Ensure lids are securely placed on pans to retain heat.
Unit is too hot. Heat setting is too high. Reduce the heat setting to LOW or MED.
Water spots on stainless steel pans. Pans were air-dried or not dried immediately after washing. Always dry stainless steel parts immediately after washing with a soft cloth to prevent water spots.
