5. Setup and Installation

5.1. Power Connection

1. Connect the USB power cable to the MD-214R siren's power input port.
2. Plug the USB power cable into the provided 12V DC power adapter.
3. Insert the power adapter into a standard electrical wall outlet. The siren will power on, and an indicator light may illuminate.

5.2. Battery Installation (Optional/Backup)

5.3. Wall Mounting

2. Use the wall mounting bracket as a template to mark the drilling points on the wall.
3. Drill holes at the marked positions and insert the wall plugs.
4. Secure the mounting bracket to the wall using the provided screws.
5. Align the siren with the mounting bracket and slide it into place until it clicks securely.

6. Operating Instructions

6.1. Pairing with an Alarm System

The MD-214R siren operates wirelessly at 868MHz and must be paired with a compatible FOCUS alarm control panel or remote control. Refer to your alarm system's manual for specific instructions on how to add a wireless siren. Generally, this involves:

1. Putting your alarm control panel into 'pairing' or 'learning' mode.
2. Activating the MD-214R siren (e.g., by pressing a test button or triggering a specific sequence, as per your alarm system's instructions).
3. Confirming successful pairing on your control panel.

6.2. Siren Activation

Once paired, the MD-214R siren will activate automatically when your alarm system detects an intrusion or when manually triggered via a paired remote control or control panel. Upon activation, the siren will emit a loud 105dB alarm sound, and the red strobe light will flash.
