Operating Instructions
Live View
After setup, the DVR will display a live view of all connected cameras on your monitor. You can switch between single-camera view, multi-camera grids, and sequence modes using the on-screen menu or mouse controls.
Recording
- Continuous Recording: The system is pre-configured for continuous recording.
- Motion Detection Recording: Configure specific channels for motion-triggered recording via the DVR menu (Main Menu > Record > Motion).
- Scheduled Recording: Set up custom recording schedules for each camera (Main Menu > Record > Schedule).

Remote Viewing (Lorex Home App)
For remote access to your system, download the Lorex Home app on your smartphone or tablet. Follow the in-app instructions to add your DVR by scanning the QR code or manually entering the device ID. This feature requires the DVR to be connected to the internet.
Voice Control & Smart Home Integration
This system supports voice assistance compatibility with Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant for viewing cameras and activating features. It also offers smart home compatibility with Apple TV or Chromecast for streaming footage to your TV. Refer to the Lorex Home app or Lorex website for detailed instructions on integrating these features.
Maintenance
Hard Drive Management
The 2 TB hard drive will automatically overwrite the oldest footage when it becomes full. To manage storage or back up important footage, use the DVR's export function (Main Menu > Backup) to a USB flash drive.
Cleaning
- Cameras: Periodically clean camera lenses with a soft, damp cloth to ensure clear image quality. Avoid abrasive cleaners.
- DVR: Keep the DVR free from dust by gently wiping the exterior with a dry cloth. Ensure ventilation openings are not blocked.
Firmware Updates
Ensure your DVR is connected to the internet to receive automatic firmware updates. Updates provide performance improvements and security enhancements. You can also manually check for updates via Main Menu > System > Information > Upgrade.
