Compatibility Note: This device is only compatible with Signia's Nx and X platform hearing aids. Other hearing aid models will not work with the Streamline TV.

2. Setup

This section guides you through connecting your Signia Streamline TV to your television and pairing it with your hearing aids.

2.2. Connecting to Your Television

The Streamline TV offers multiple connection options to ensure compatibility with various television models.

  • Optical (TOSLINK) Connection: This is the recommended connection for optimal digital audio quality.
    1. Connect one end of the optical cable to the "Digital Out (Optical)" port on your television.
    2. Connect the other end of the optical cable to the "Digital In (Optical)" port on the back of your Streamline TV.
  • Analog (RCA) Connection: Use this option if your television does not have an optical audio output.
    1. Connect the red and white RCA cables to the corresponding "Audio Out (RCA)" ports on your television.
    2. Connect the other ends of the RCA cables to the "Analog In (R/L)" ports on the back of your Streamline TV.
  • Power Connection:
    1. Connect the power adapter to the "Power" port on the Streamline TV.
    2. Plug the power adapter into a wall outlet. The power indicator light on the front of the device should illuminate.

Figure 2: This diagram visually represents the connection process. It shows a hearing aid icon wirelessly connected to a central "StreamLine TV" box icon, which is then connected via a cable to a television icon. This illustrates how the StreamLine TV acts as an intermediary to stream audio from the TV to the hearing aid.

2.3. Pairing with Signia Hearing Aids

  • Ensure your Signia Nx or X platform hearing aids are turned on and within range of the Streamline TV.
  • Press and hold the pairing button on the Streamline TV (refer to your device for exact button location, often a small button near the ports or on the side).
  • Follow the pairing instructions provided with your specific Signia hearing aid model or through the Signia app. The indicator lights on the Streamline TV will typically change to confirm a successful connection.

3. Operating

Once set up, operating your Streamline TV is straightforward, primarily managed through the Signia app.

3.1. Starting Audio Streaming

  • Open the Signia app on your smartphone.
  • Navigate to the streaming or accessory control section within the app.
  • Select the "Streamline TV" option to begin streaming audio from your television to your hearing aids.
  • Adjust the volume directly through your hearing aids or the Signia app.

3.2. Stopping Audio Streaming

  • To stop streaming, simply select another program on your hearing aids or disable the Streamline TV streaming option in the Signia app.
  • Your hearing aids will automatically revert to their previous program or connect to other paired devices (e.g., your smartphone) when the TV is turned off or streaming is paused.

4. Maintenance

Proper care ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your Signia Streamline TV.

4.1. Cleaning

  • Wipe the device regularly with a soft, dry cloth.
  • Avoid using abrasive cleaners, solvents, or harsh chemicals, as these can damage the surface.

4.2. Storage

  • When not in use for extended periods, store the Streamline TV in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.

4.3. Handling

  • Handle the device with care to prevent physical damage. Avoid dropping it or exposing it to excessive force.

5. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your Signia Streamline TV, refer to the following common solutions.

  • No Power / Device Not Turning On:
    • Ensure the power adapter is securely connected to both the Streamline TV and a working wall outlet.
    • Check if the power outlet is functional by plugging in another device.
    • If the device was recently received and the packaging was damaged, inspect the device for visible damage. A damaged unit may not power on.
  • No Audio Streaming to Hearing Aids:
    • Verify that the Streamline TV is correctly connected to your television's audio output (optical or RCA).
    • Confirm that your television's audio output settings are configured to send audio through the selected port (e.g., "Optical Out" or "RCA Out").
    • Ensure your Signia hearing aids are properly paired with the Streamline TV. Re-attempt the pairing process if necessary.
    • Check the Signia app to confirm that the Streamline TV streaming program is active.
    • Ensure your hearing aids are within the operational range of the Streamline TV.
  • Poor Audio Quality:
    • Check all cable connections for secure fit.
    • If using an analog (RCA) connection, ensure the red and white cables are connected to the correct R/L channels.
    • Adjust the volume levels on your hearing aids and, if available, on the Streamline TV or through the Signia app.
    • Ensure there are no obstructions between the Streamline TV and your hearing aids that could interfere with the wireless signal.
  • Physical Damage Upon Arrival:
    • If the product or its packaging arrives with significant physical damage, it is recommended to contact the seller or manufacturer immediately for a replacement. Do not attempt to use a visibly damaged device.
