2. Safety Instructions

Before using your VERITAS Rubina H11C, please read and understand all safety instructions to prevent injury and damage to the machine.

  • Always disconnect the sewing machine from the electrical outlet immediately after use and before cleaning, removing covers, or making any user servicing adjustments.
  • Never operate the machine if the power cord or plug is damaged, or if the machine is not working properly, has been dropped, or damaged.
  • Keep fingers away from all moving parts. Special care is required around the sewing machine needle.

  • Do not use outdoors.

4. Setup

4.1 Unpacking and Placement

  1. Carefully remove the machine from its packaging.
  2. Place the machine on a stable, flat surface.
  3. Ensure adequate space around the machine for comfortable operation.

4.2 Power Connection

  1. Connect the power cord to the machine's power input socket.
  2. Plug the power cord into a suitable electrical outlet.
  3. Turn on the machine using the power switch located at the back.

4.3 Bobbin Winding

  1. Place a spool of thread on the spool pin.
  2. Guide the thread through the upper thread guide and around the bobbin winding tension disc.
  3. Place an empty bobbin onto the bobbin winder spindle.
  4. Wind the thread a few times manually around the bobbin.
  5. Push the bobbin winder spindle to the right.
  6. Press the foot controller or start/stop button to begin winding. The machine will stop automatically when the bobbin is full.
  7. Cut the thread and remove the full bobbin.

4.4 Threading the Machine

  1. Raise the presser foot and needle to their highest positions.
  2. Place a spool of thread on the spool pin.
  3. Follow the numbered threading path indicated on the machine, guiding the thread through all guides and the tension discs.
  4. Bring the thread through the take-up lever from right to left.
  5. Thread the needle using the automatic needle threader or manually from front to back.
  6. Pull about 6 inches of thread through the needle eye.

4.5 Inserting the Bobbin

  1. Open the bobbin cover plate.
  2. Insert the full bobbin into the bobbin case, ensuring the thread unwinds in the correct direction (usually counter-clockwise).
  3. Guide the bobbin thread through the tension spring.
  4. Close the bobbin cover plate.
  5. Hold the upper thread and turn the handwheel towards you to bring up the bobbin thread.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Stitch Selection

The VERITAS Rubina H11C offers 100 different stitch programs. Use the buttons next to the LCD screen to navigate and select your desired stitch. The LCD screen will display the selected stitch number and recommended settings.

5.2 Adjusting Stitch Length and Width

While each stitch program has optimal pre-set length and width, you can adjust these settings using the dedicated buttons on the machine to suit your fabric and project requirements. Refer to the LCD screen for current settings.

5.3 Automatic Buttonholes

The machine features 7 different automatic buttonhole styles. Attach the buttonhole foot and select the desired buttonhole program. The machine will automatically sew the buttonhole to the correct size based on the button placed in the foot.

5.4 Sewing with Different Fabrics

The VERITAS Rubina H11C is suitable for various materials, including jersey, fine fabrics, and sturdy fabrics. Adjust needle type, thread, and stitch settings according to the fabric thickness and type. For very thick or delicate fabrics, perform a test stitch on a scrap piece first.

5.5 Using the Free Arm

To use the free arm, slide off the accessory compartment. This exposes the narrow free arm, which is ideal for sewing tubular items like sleeves, pant hems, and small children's clothing.

6. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your sewing machine.

6.1 Cleaning

  • Lint Removal: Regularly remove lint and dust from the bobbin area and feed dogs using the brush provided.
  • Machine Surface: Wipe the exterior of the machine with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.

6.2 Needle Replacement

Replace the needle frequently, especially after every 8-10 hours of sewing or if it becomes bent, dull, or causes skipped stitches. Use the correct needle type and size for your fabric.

  1. Turn off the machine and disconnect from power.
  2. Loosen the needle clamp screw.
  3. Remove the old needle.
  4. Insert a new needle with the flat side facing the back, pushing it up as far as it will go.
  5. Tighten the needle clamp screw securely.
