Introduction

The DJI RC-N3 Remote Controller is designed to provide intuitive and precise control over compatible DJI drones. This manual will guide you through its features, setup, operation, and maintenance to ensure optimal performance and longevity.

Setup

1. Unboxing and Initial Inspection

Upon receiving your DJI RC-N3 Remote Controller, carefully unbox all components and inspect for any signs of damage. The package should include:

  • Remote Controller × 1
  • RC Cable (USB-C Connector) × 1
  • RC Cable (Lightning Connector) × 1

If a Micro-USB connector cable is required for your mobile device, it must be purchased separately.

2. Charging the Remote Controller

Before first use, ensure the remote controller is fully charged. Connect the remote controller to a USB power adapter using the provided USB-C cable. The charging time is approximately 2 hours.

3. Attaching Your Mobile Device

The remote controller features an integrated holder for your mobile device. Extend the holder and securely place your smartphone or tablet. The maximum supported mobile device size is 180×86×10 mm (L×W×H). Connect your mobile device to the remote controller using the appropriate RC cable (USB-C or Lightning, or a separately purchased Micro-USB cable).

4. Installing the DJI Fly App

Download and install the DJI Fly app on your mobile device. This app is essential for real-time camera feed display and drone control. Ensure your mobile device meets the minimum system requirements for the app.

Operating Instructions

1. Powering On/Off

To power on the remote controller, press the power button once briefly, then press and hold it for two seconds. To power off, repeat the same procedure.

2. Linking the Remote Controller to the Aircraft

Ensure both the remote controller and the aircraft are powered on. Open the DJI Fly app and follow the on-screen instructions to link the remote controller to your drone. This process may require multiple attempts for initial synchronization.

3. Basic Controls

The remote controller features two control sticks for flight maneuvers and various buttons for camera and flight functions. Familiarize yourself with the layout:

  • Control Sticks: Used for drone movement (throttle, yaw, pitch, roll).
  • Fn Button: Customizable function button.
  • Flight Mode Switch (C/N/S): Toggles between Cine, Normal, and Sport modes.
  • Power Button: Powers the unit on/off.
  • Return-to-Home (RTH) Button: Initiates automatic return to home point.
  • Shutter/Record Button: Captures photos or starts/stops video recording.
  • Gimbal Dial: Controls the tilt of the drone's camera gimbal.

4. Real-time Camera Feed

Once connected, the DJI Fly app on your mobile device will display a high-definition real-time camera feed from the drone. This allows for precise framing and monitoring during flight.

5. Flight Modes

The remote controller supports different flight modes:

  • Cine Mode: Provides slower, more controlled movements for cinematic shots.
  • Normal Mode: Standard flight mode with balanced speed and responsiveness.
  • Sport Mode: Offers maximum speed and agility for dynamic maneuvers.

Select the appropriate mode based on your flying environment and desired shot.

Maintenance

1. Cleaning

Regularly clean the remote controller with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid using liquid cleaners or solvents that may damage the surface or internal components.

2. Storage

Store the remote controller in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. When storing for extended periods, ensure the battery is charged to approximately 50-60% to preserve battery health.

3. Battery Care

The remote controller uses a Lithium Ion battery. Avoid fully discharging the battery frequently. Recharge the battery regularly, even if not in use, to maintain its capacity and lifespan.

Troubleshooting
