Initial Setup

Winding the Movement
The Navitimer 1 Chronograph is equipped with an automatic mechanical movement. Before wearing for the first time or after a period of inactivity, manually wind the watch by rotating the crown clockwise approximately 40 times while it is in position 0 (pushed in). This action builds up the power reserve.
Setting the Time and Date
To set the time:
- Pull the crown out to position 2.
- Rotate the crown to move the hands clockwise until the desired time is displayed.
- Push the crown back into position 0.
To set the date:
- Pull the crown out to position 1.
- Rotate the crown to adjust the date. Avoid setting the date between 8 PM and 3 AM to prevent damage to the movement.
- Push the crown back into position 0.
Watch Operation
Automatic Movement
Your watch is powered by an automatic mechanical movement, which winds itself with the motion of your wrist. When fully wound, it has a power reserve of approximately 70 hours. Regular wear keeps the watch wound.
Chronograph Function
The chronograph allows for precise timing of events:
- To start the chronograph, press the upper push-piece (A). The large central second hand will begin to move.
- To stop the chronograph, press the upper push-piece (A) again. The elapsed time can be read from the central second hand, the 30-minute counter, and the 12-hour counter.
- To reset the chronograph to zero, press the lower push-piece (B). This can only be done when the chronograph is stopped.
Bidirectional Rotating Bezel and Slide Rule
The Navitimer's iconic bidirectional rotating bezel features a circular slide rule. Cleaning
