Setup

1. Battery Installation

The Cherub WST-2058B tuner requires one CR2 battery (included). To install or replace the battery:

  1. Locate the battery compartment on the back of the tuner.
  2. Open the battery compartment cover.
  3. Insert the CR2 battery, ensuring the correct polarity (+/-) as indicated inside the compartment.
  4. Close the battery compartment cover securely.

2. Attaching the Tuner

The tuner features a clip-on design for easy attachment to your instrument.

  • Gently open the clip.
  • Attach the tuner securely to the headstock of your guitar, bass, violin, or ukulele. Ensure the tuner is firmly attached but not causing damage to the instrument's finish.
  • Adjust the display angle for optimal viewing.

Operating Instructions

1. Powering On/Off

Press and hold the power button (usually located on the side or front) for a few seconds to turn the tuner on or off. The LCD display will illuminate when powered on.

2. Selecting Tuning Mode

The WST-2058B supports multiple tuning modes. Press the mode button (often labeled 'Mode' or indicated by an icon) repeatedly to cycle through the available modes:

  • Chromatic (C): For all instruments.
  • Guitar (G): Optimized for guitar tuning.
  • Bass (B): Optimized for bass guitar tuning.
  • Violin (V): Optimized for violin tuning.
  • Ukulele C (Uc): For standard C tuning ukulele.
  • Ukulele D (Ud): For D tuning ukulele.

The selected mode will be displayed on the LCD screen.

3. Tuning Your Instrument

Once the tuner is attached and the correct mode is selected:

  1. Pluck a single string on your instrument.
  2. The tuner's LCD display will show the note being played and a meter indicating whether the note is flat, sharp, or in tune.
  3. The 2-color backlit display will change color to indicate tuning status:
    • Orange/Red: Indicates the note is flat or sharp.
    • Green: Indicates the note is in tune.
  4. Adjust your instrument's tuning peg until the display shows the correct note and the backlight turns green.

4. Automatic Shut-off

To conserve battery life, the Cherub WST-2058B will automatically shut off if no signal is detected for 5 minutes. This feature helps extend battery life during periods of inactivity.

Maintenance

1. Cleaning

To clean your tuner, gently wipe it with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners, solvents, or immerse the device in water.

2. Battery Replacement

When the display becomes dim or the tuner does not respond, it is time to replace the battery. Refer to the "Battery Installation" section under Setup for instructions.

3. Storage

When not in use for extended periods, remove the battery to prevent leakage and store the tuner in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
