3.1. Attaching the Clamp Unit
The clamp unit secures the main module to your helmet. Choose between the clamp type or the glued surface mounting adapter based on your helmet's design and preference.
- Clamp Installation: Loosen the screws on the clamp unit using the provided Allen wrench. Slide the clamp between the helmet shell and the inner padding, ensuring a secure fit. Tighten the screws.
- Glued Surface Mounting: Clean the desired mounting area on the helmet surface thoroughly. Peel the backing from the glued surface mounting adapter and firmly press it onto the helmet. Allow sufficient time for the adhesive to cure before attaching the main unit.

3.2. Speaker Installation
Position the speakers inside your helmet's ear pockets for optimal audio clarity.
- Identify the left and right speakers.
- Attach the hook and loop fasteners for speakers to the back of each speaker.
- Place the speakers inside the helmet's ear pockets. Ensure they are positioned directly over your ears for the best sound experience. Use speaker pads or rubber pads if needed for proper fit and comfort.
- Route the speaker wires neatly under the helmet padding to the clamp unit.

3.3. Microphone Installation
Choose between the boom microphone for open-face helmets or the wired boom microphone for full-face helmets.
- Boom Microphone: Attach the boom microphone holder to the inside of the helmet near your mouth using the hook and loop fastener. Insert the boom microphone into the holder. Apply a microphone sponge for wind noise reduction.
- Wired Boom Microphone: For full-face helmets, route the wired boom microphone along the helmet's chin bar. Secure it with hook and loop fasteners so the microphone is positioned directly in front of your mouth. Apply a microphone sponge.
- Connect the chosen microphone to the appropriate port on the clamp unit.

4. Operating Instructions
This clamp kit facilitates the use of your Sena communication system (20S, 20S EVO, 30K) with your Harley-Davidson's integrated CB and audio system. The operation of the connected Sena unit itself is covered in its respective user manual.
4.1. Audio Functionality
Once connected, audio from your Harley-Davidson's system (e.g., radio, intercom, navigation) will be routed through the helmet speakers. Adjust volume via your motorcycle's controls or the connected Sena unit.
4.2. CB Functionality
The microphone in your helmet will transmit through the motorcycle's CB system. Use your motorcycle's CB controls to manage transmission and reception.
4.3. Intercom (Motorcycle System)
If your Harley-Davidson has an integrated intercom system, this kit allows you to use your helmet's microphone and speakers for communication with a passenger or other connected riders through the motorcycle's system.
5. Maintenance and Care
- Cleaning: Wipe the clamp unit and cables with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals or solvents.
- Microphone Sponges: Replace microphone sponges periodically to maintain optimal sound quality and hygiene.
- Cable Inspection: Regularly inspect all cables for signs of wear, fraying, or damage. Replace damaged cables immediately.
- Storage: Store the kit in a dry, cool place when not in use.
6. Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| No audio from speakers. | Loose connections, incorrect volume settings, damaged speakers/cables. | Check all cable connections. Ensure volume on both the Sena unit and motorcycle is up. Test with another Sena unit or cable if possible. Inspect speakers for damage. |
| Microphone not transmitting. | Microphone not connected, incorrect CB settings on motorcycle, damaged microphone. | Verify microphone connection to the clamp unit. Check CB transmission settings on your Harley-Davidson. Ensure microphone is positioned correctly. |
| Poor audio quality (static, low volume). | Loose connections, interference, improperly positioned speakers, worn microphone sponge. | Secure all connections. Ensure speakers are directly over ears. Replace microphone sponge. Check for external interference sources. |
| Clamp unit feels loose. | Screws are loose, improper installation. | Re-tighten clamp screws with the Allen wrench. If using the glued adapter, ensure the surface was clean and allowed to cure properly. |
