1. Product Overview

This manual provides instructions for the EMART 24x24 inch Softbox Lighting Kit with Reflector. This kit is designed to provide continuous, soft light for various photography and video recording applications, including portraits, video studios, and still-photography.

2. Package Contents

Verify that all components are present in your package:

• 2 x 105W E26/E27 5500K CFL Light Bulbs

• 1 x 5-in-1 Collapsible Light Reflector (24-inch/60cm)

3. Setup Instructions

3.1 Assembling the Softbox and Light Stand

1. Unfold the Softbox: The softbox features a push-and-click design for easy assembly. Gently expand the softbox until it locks into its square shape.
2. Attach the Light Bulb: Carefully screw the 105W CFL light bulb into the E26/E27 socket located inside the softbox. Handle bulbs with care to prevent breakage.
3. Mount the Softbox to the Light Stand: Secure the softbox assembly onto the 1/4 inch threaded screw at the top of the light stand. Ensure it is firmly attached.
4. Adjust Light Stand Height: Extend the light stand to your desired height, ranging from a minimum of 33 inches to a maximum of 86 inches. Tighten all locking mechanisms to ensure stability.
5. Adjust Softbox Angle: The lamp holder allows for 210° angle adjustments. Loosen the adjustment knob, position the softbox, and then tighten the knob to secure the angle.

3.2 Attaching the Diffusion Panel

The softbox includes a removable nylon front diffusion panel. Attach this panel to the front of the softbox using the Velcro strips to soften the light output.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Powering On the Lights

Plug the power cord into a standard electrical outlet. Use the integrated switch on the power cord to turn the light on or off.

4.2 Using the 5-in-1 Collapsible Reflector

The 5-in-1 reflector (24-inch/60cm) can be used to modify light in various ways:

• White: Provides a neutral fill light, softening shadows.
• Black: Blocks light, creating shadows and increasing contrast.
• Silver: Reflects light for increased contrast and highlights.
• Gold: Reflects warm light, ideal for skin tones.
• Translucent: Diffuses light, reducing harshness and creating a softer spread.

4.3 Adjusting Light Intensity

This lighting kit provides continuous output. To adjust light intensity, physically move the softbox closer to or further from your subject, or adjust its angle. The bulbs are not dimmable.

5. Maintenance

• Bulb Care: The CFL bulbs operate at a low temperature and have a long lifespan. Always allow bulbs to cool before handling. Store bulbs in their original packaging or a protective container when not in use to prevent damage.
• Cleaning: Wipe down the softbox exterior and light stands with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
• Storage: When not in use, disassemble the kit and store all components in the provided portable carrying bag to protect them from dust and damage.

5.1 Folding the 5-in-1 Reflector

To fold the reflector for storage:

1. Hold the reflector with both hands on opposite sides.
2. Twist your hands in opposite directions, forming an '8' shape.
3. Push the sides towards the center to collapse it into a smaller circle.

6. Troubleshooting

• Light Not Turning On:
  • Ensure the power cord is securely plugged into a working electrical outlet.
  • Check the inline switch on the power cord to ensure it is in the 'On' position.
  • Verify that the light bulb is correctly screwed into the socket and is not damaged.
• Light Intensity Issues:
  • This kit uses continuous lighting without dimming. Adjust light intensity by repositioning the softbox closer to or further from your subject, or by changing its angle.
  • Utilize the 5-in-1 reflector to further modify light output as needed.
• Stability Concerns:
  • Ensure all sections of the light stand are fully extended and all locking mechanisms are securely tightened.
  • The light stands are lightweight; exercise caution to prevent tipping. Consider using sandbags (sold separately) for added stability, especially in high-traffic areas or uneven surfaces.
• Damaged Components:
