Operating Instructions
Your NESCO SC-4-25 Slow Cooker features three heat settings for versatile cooking:
- OFF: Turns the appliance off.
- LOW: Ideal for slow cooking over an extended period, typically 6-8 hours.

- Place the lid on the slow cooker.
- Turn the control dial to your desired cooking setting (LOW or HIGH). The indicator light will illuminate.

- Once cooking is complete, you can switch the dial to WARM to keep food at a safe serving temperature until ready to eat.

Care and Maintenance
Proper care ensures the longevity of your slow cooker:
- Always unplug the slow cooker and allow it to cool completely before cleaning.
- The ceramic crock and tempered-glass lid are dishwasher safe. Alternatively, they can be washed by hand with warm, soapy water.
- The exterior of the heating base should be wiped clean with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or scouring pads.
- Never immerse the heating base in water or any other liquid.
- For stubborn food residue on the ceramic crock, fill it with warm, soapy water and let it soak for a few hours before cleaning.
- Store the slow cooker with the lid inverted on the crock to prevent odors and allow air circulation.
Troubleshooting
If your slow cooker is not functioning as expected, consider these common issues:
- Appliance not turning on: Ensure the power cord is securely plugged into a working electrical outlet and the control dial is set to LOW, HIGH, or WARM.
- Food not cooking properly: Verify that the lid is seated correctly on the ceramic crock. Avoid frequently lifting the lid, as this can prolong cooking times. Ensure the correct heat setting (LOW or HIGH) is selected for your recipe.
- Food cooking too fast/slow: Adjust the heat setting as needed. Recipes may vary, and cooking times can be influenced by the amount and type of food.
