1. Introduction

The Behringer XENYX X2222USB is a feature-packed 22-input, 2/2-bus mixer designed to deliver premium-quality sound for live performances and studio recordings. It incorporates 8 studio-grade XENYX Mic Preamps, ultra-musical "British" channel EQs with a semi-parametric mid band, and easy-to-use "one-knob" compressors for dynamic control. The mixer also features a 24-bit, dual-engine Multi-FX processor with 16 editable, professional-grade presets including reverb, chorus, flanger, delay, pitch shifter, and multi-effects. 2. Important Safety Instructions

Always follow basic safety precautions when using electrical equipment to reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, and injury to persons. Read all instructions before operating the product.

• Do not use this apparatus near water.
• Clean only with dry cloth.
• Do not block any ventilation openings. Install in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions.
• Do not install near any heat sources such as radiators, heat registers, stoves, or other apparatus (including amplifiers) that produce heat.
• Do not defeat the safety purpose of the polarized or grounding-type plug. A polarized plug has two blades with one wider than the other. A grounding type plug has two blades and a third grounding prong. The wide blade or the third prong are provided for your safety. If the provided plug does not fit into your outlet, consult an electrician for replacement of the obsolete outlet.
• Protect the power cord from being walked on or pinched particularly at plugs, convenience receptacles, and the point where they exit from the apparatus.
• Only use attachments/accessories specified by the manufacturer.
• Unplug this apparatus during lightning storms or when unused for long periods of time.
• Refer all servicing to qualified service personnel. 3. Setup

3.1 Unpacking

Carefully unpack your Behringer XENYX X2222USB mixer and inspect it for any signs of damage that may have occurred during transit. Retain the original packing materials for future shipping or storage needs. Ensure all components listed in the packaging contents are present.

3.2 Connections

Before connecting any cables, ensure the mixer and all connected devices are powered off. The X2222USB offers a variety of input and output options for versatile connectivity.

• Microphone Inputs (XLR): Connect microphones to the XLR inputs on channels 1-8. These inputs feature studio-grade XENYX Mic Preamps.
• Line Inputs (TRS): Connect line-level sources such as keyboards, drum machines, or other audio devices to the 1/4" TRS line inputs.
• Main Outputs (XLR/TRS): Connect your main speakers or power amplifier to the balanced XLR or 1/4" TRS Main Outputs.
• USB Audio Interface: Use the USB Type-B port to connect the mixer to your computer for recording and playback.
• Power Input: Connect the provided power cable to the IEC inlet on the rear panel.

3.3 Power On/Off

After all connections are made, connect the power cable to a suitable electrical outlet. Locate the power switch on the rear panel of the mixer. To power on, flip the switch to the "ON" position. To power off, flip the switch to the "OFF" position. It is recommended to power on your mixer before other audio equipment and power it off after other audio equipment to prevent pops and clicks.

• Channel Strips: Each input channel has controls for Gain, EQ, Aux Sends, Pan, Mute, Solo, and a Level Fader.
• EQ Section: The "British" EQs provide warm and musical sound shaping. Channels 1-8 feature a 3-band EQ with a semi-parametric mid band.
• Compressors: Channels 1-8 include easy-to-use "one-knob" compressors for dynamic control.

4.2 Microphone Inputs

The XENYX X2222USB features 8 high-quality XENYX Mic Preamps on channels 1-8, designed for clear and transparent audio reproduction. Connect your microphones using XLR cables. Use the GAIN knob to adjust the input level for each microphone. The dedicated Low Cut filter can be engaged to eliminate unwanted low-frequency noise, such as floor rumble.

4.3 Line Inputs

Channels 1-8 also feature 1/4" TRS Line Inputs for connecting line-level instruments and devices. Channels 9/10, 11/12, 13/14, and 15/16 are stereo line input channels. Adjust the GAIN knob for appropriate input levels. The mixer supports a wide range of line input signals.

4.5 Multi-FX Processor

The integrated 24-bit, dual-engine Multi-FX processor provides 16 editable, professional-grade presets. These include various types of reverb, chorus, flanger, delay, pitch shifter, and multi-effects. Use the FX SEND controls on each channel to send signal to the effects processor, and the FX RETURN controls to blend the processed signal back into the mix. The digital display shows the currently selected effect program.

4.6 USB Audio Interface

The XENYX X2222USB features a built-in USB audio interface, allowing you to connect the mixer directly to your computer for recording and playback. This turns your computer into a complete, high-performance home recording studio. Install any necessary drivers (usually available from the Behringer website) and connect the mixer via a standard USB cable. Audio can be routed from the mixer's main mix to your computer for recording, and audio from your computer can be played back through the mixer.
