Setup

Follow these steps to set up your soundbar for optimal performance.

1. Placement

Place the soundbar on a flat, stable surface directly in front of your television. Ensure there are no obstructions in front of the soundbar that could block the sound or the remote control signal. For wall mounting, use the optional Bose soundbar Wall bracket (sold separately).

2. Connections

Connect the soundbar to your television using either the HDMI cable (recommended for ARC/eARC functionality) or the Optical cable.

  • HDMI Connection (Recommended): Connect one end of the HDMI cable to the HDMI ARC/eARC port on your TV and the other end to the HDMI OUT (TV ARC) port on the soundbar.
  • Optical Connection: If your TV does not have an HDMI ARC/eARC port, connect the optical cable from your TV's optical output to the OPTICAL IN port on the soundbar.
  • Power: Connect the power cord to the soundbar's power input and then to a wall outlet.

Note: The soundbar also features USB input for service only.

3. Initial Setup with Bose Music App

For full functionality and setup, download the Bose Music app on your smartphone or tablet. The app will guide you through connecting the soundbar to your Wi-Fi network, setting up voice assistants (Alexa, Google Assistant), and performing ADAPTiQ audio room calibration.

  1. Download the Bose Music app from your device's app store.
  2. Open the app and follow the on-screen instructions to add your Soundbar 700.
  3. During setup, the app will prompt you to use the included ADAPTiQ headset to calibrate the soundbar's audio performance to the unique acoustics of your room. This process optimizes sound quality for your listening environment.
