1. Important Safety Instructions
Always observe basic safety precautions when operating this circular saw to reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, and serious personal injury. Read all instructions carefully before use.
General Power Tool Safety Warnings:
- Work Area Safety: Keep the work area clean and well-lit. Cluttered or dark areas invite accidents. Do not operate power tools in explosive atmospheres, such as in the presence of flammable liquids, gases, or dust.
- Electrical Safety: Power tool plugs must match the outlet. Never modify the plug in any way. Avoid body contact with earthed or grounded surfaces.
- Personal Safety: Always wear eye protection. Use hearing protection when operating for extended periods. Wear a dust mask if operations create dust. Dress properly; avoid loose clothing or jewelry.
- Tool Use and Care: Do not force the power tool. Use the correct power tool for your application. Disconnect the plug from the power source before making any adjustments, changing accessories, or storing power tools.
Circular Saw Specific Safety Warnings:
- Keep hands away from cutting area and the blade. Keep your second hand on the auxiliary handle, or motor housing. If both hands are holding the saw, they cannot be cut by the blade.
- Do not reach underneath the workpiece. The guard cannot protect you from the blade below the workpiece.
- Adjust the cutting depth to the thickness of the workpiece. Less than a full tooth of the blade should be visible below the workpiece.
- Never hold the workpiece in your hands or across your leg. Secure the workpiece to a stable platform.
- Hold the power tool by insulated gripping surfaces when performing an operation where the cutting accessory may contact hidden wiring or its own cord.

3. Setup
3.1 Unpacking
Carefully remove the circular saw and all accessories from the packaging. Inspect the tool for any damage that may have occurred during shipping. Retain the packaging for future storage or transport.
3.2 Blade Installation and Removal
- Ensure the saw is unplugged from the power source before attempting any blade changes.
- Press and hold the spindle lock button to prevent the blade from rotating.
- Using the provided wrench, loosen the arbor nut by turning it counter-clockwise.
- Remove the outer washer and the old blade.
- Clean any sawdust or debris from the arbor and washers.
- Place the new blade onto the arbor, ensuring the teeth are pointing in the direction of the arrow on the blade guard.
- Replace the outer washer and arbor nut. Tighten the arbor nut clockwise with the wrench while holding the spindle lock button. Do not overtighten.
3.3 Adjusting Cutting Depth
The cutting depth should be set so that the blade extends approximately 1/8 inch (3 mm) below the workpiece. This minimizes kickback and ensures a clean cut.
- Loosen the depth adjustment lever located on the side of the saw.
- Raise or lower the saw base to achieve the desired cutting depth.
- Tighten the depth adjustment lever securely.
3.4 Adjusting Bevel Angle
This saw allows for bevel cuts from 0° to 56°.
- Loosen the bevel adjustment knob/lever at the front of the saw.
- Tilt the saw base to the desired angle, aligning the indicator with the angle scale.
- Tighten the bevel adjustment knob/lever firmly.
4. Operation
4.1 Starting and Stopping the Saw
- To Start: Ensure the saw is properly set up and the workpiece is secured. Press the trigger switch.
- To Stop: Release the trigger switch. The blade will stop rotating.
4.2 Making Straight Cuts
- Mark your cutting line clearly on the workpiece.
- Position the saw with the front edge of the shoe resting on the workpiece, ensuring the blade is clear of the material.
- Start the saw and allow the blade to reach full speed before engaging the material.
- Guide the saw along the cutting line with a steady, even pressure. Do not force the saw.
- Maintain a firm grip with both hands.
- Once the cut is complete, release the trigger and allow the blade to stop before lifting the saw from the workpiece.
4.3 Making Bevel Cuts
Follow the same procedure as for straight cuts, but ensure the bevel angle is correctly set as described in Section 3.4.
4.4 Important Operating Tips
- Always use sharp blades. Dull blades can cause kickback and strain the motor.
- Support the workpiece adequately to prevent pinching the blade, which can lead to kickback.
- Never attempt to cut material that is too thick for the saw's capacity.
- Keep the power cord clear of the cutting path.
5. Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and safe operation of your circular saw. Always unplug the tool before performing any maintenance.
5.1 Cleaning
- After each use, clean the saw with a dry cloth to remove sawdust and debris.
- Use compressed air to clear dust from the motor vents.
- Keep the blade guard clean and free-moving.
5.2 Blade Inspection and Replacement
- Inspect the blade regularly for dullness, cracks, or missing teeth. Replace damaged blades immediately.
- Refer to Section 3.2 for blade installation and removal instructions.
5.3 Carbon Brush Inspection and Replacement
The saw features exposed carbon brushes for easy access. Inspect them periodically for wear. When they are worn down to approximately 1/4 inch (6 mm), they should be replaced. Refer to the diagram in Section 2 for the location of the carbon brushes.
- Unplug the saw.
- Locate the brush caps on the motor housing.
- Unscrew the brush caps and remove the old carbon brushes.
- Insert new carbon brushes, ensuring they are seated correctly.
- Replace and tighten the brush caps.
5.4 Storage
Store the circular saw in a dry, secure location, out of reach of children. Ensure the power cord is neatly coiled and not kinked.
