1. Introduction

4. Setup

4.1. Battery Installation

The scale requires two AAA (1.5V) batteries. Follow these steps to install them:

  1. Locate the battery compartment on the back of the scale.
  2. Gently slide open the battery compartment cover.
  3. Insert the two AAA batteries, ensuring the correct polarity (+ and -) as indicated inside the compartment.
  4. Close the battery compartment cover securely.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1. Turning On/Off

  • To turn on the scale, press the ON/TARE button. The LCD will light up and display "0.00" or "0.0" when ready.
  • To turn off the scale, press and hold the ON/TARE button for a few seconds. The scale will also automatically shut off after a period of inactivity to save battery.

5.2. Unit Conversion

To change the weighing unit (Lb, OZ, g, Kg), press the UNIT button while the scale is on and displaying "0.00". Cycle through the available units until your desired unit is shown.

5.3. Weighing Procedure

  1. Ensure the scale is turned on and set to your preferred unit.
  2. Loop the sturdy strap around the handle of the item you wish to weigh (e.g., suitcase, bag).
  3. Hold the scale by its handle and lift the item off the ground. Keep the item steady.
  4. The digital display will show the weight. Once the reading stabilizes, the scale will automatically lock the value and emit an audible signal.
  5. Lower the item gently. The weight will remain displayed for a few seconds, allowing you to record it.

5.4. Tare Function

The tare function allows you to subtract the weight of a container or an item already attached to the scale, so you can weigh additional contents accurately.

  1. Attach the empty container or initial item to the scale.
  2. Press the ON/TARE button. The display will reset to "0.00".
  3. Add the additional contents to the container or item. The display will now show only the net weight of the added contents.

7. Troubleshooting

  • "Lo" or Low Battery Indication: If the display shows "Lo" or a low battery icon, replace both AAA batteries with new ones.
  • "O-Ld" or Overload Indication: If the display shows "O-Ld", the item being weighed exceeds the maximum capacity of 110 lbs (50 kg). Remove the item immediately to prevent damage to the scale.
  • Inaccurate Readings: Ensure the scale is held steady and the item is not touching the ground or any other surface during weighing. Recalibrate by turning the scale off and on, then re-weigh.
  • Scale Does Not Turn On: Check if the batteries are inserted correctly with the right polarity. Ensure batteries are not depleted.

8. Care and Maintenance

  • Clean the scale with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or immerse the scale in water.
  • Store the scale in a cool, dry place when not in use.
  • Avoid dropping the scale or subjecting it to strong impacts, as this may affect its accuracy.
