4. Setup

4.1. Initial Charging

4.2. Inserting the Micro SD Card

Locate the Micro SD card slot on the DVR. Gently insert the provided 32GB Micro SD card until it clicks into place. Ensure the card is inserted correctly to enable recording.

4.3. Connecting the Button Camera

Connect the BU-18Neo button camera to the designated port on the PV-500Neo Pro DVR. Ensure a secure connection to prevent accidental unplugging during operation.

4.4. Setting Date and Time

To set the correct date and time for video recordings, connect the DVR to a computer. A text file on the Micro SD card will need to be edited to reflect the current date and time. This file also allows you to choose whether to display the date/time on the video footage.

4.5. App Installation (for Wi-Fi features)

Download the dedicated mobile application (refer to the included mini-manual for QR code or app store search terms) on your Android or iOS device to utilize Wi-Fi features and live viewing.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1. Power On/Off

Locate the power switch on the DVR. Slide the switch to the 'On' position to power on the device. The device will typically begin recording in loop mode automatically upon power-on. To power off, slide the switch to the 'Off' position.

5.2. Recording Modes

  • Continuous Loop Recording: When powered on, the device will automatically start recording. When the memory card is full, it will overwrite the oldest files to continue recording.
  • Motion Detection Recording: After powering on, press the designated button (refer to the mini-manual for exact button) once to activate motion detection mode. An LED indicator will flash to confirm this mode. Recording will only occur when motion is detected.

5.3. Accessing Recordings

To access recorded files, power off the DVR and connect it to a computer using the USB cable. The device will appear as a removable drive, allowing you to transfer or view files. Alternatively, you can remove the Micro SD card and insert it into the provided memory card reader for computer access.

6. Maintenance

  • Handle with Care: The flexible ribbon cable connecting the camera to the DVR is delicate. Avoid stressing the connection points or folding the cable sharply, as this may cause damage.
  • Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the device. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive materials.
  • Storage: Store the device in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.

7. Troubleshooting

  • Device Freezes/Stops Recording: If the device freezes or stops recording unexpectedly, use the provided reset tool to press the reset button. This may resolve the issue.

  • Poor Audio Quality: Ensure the microphone (located on the DVR body, not the camera lens) is not obstructed. For outdoor use, ensure the entire DVR is outside to minimize internal noise.
  • No Recording/Files Not Found: Verify that the Micro SD card is correctly inserted and formatted. Ensure the device is powered on and in the desired recording mode.
