7. Maintenance and Cleaning

Regular cleaning ensures optimal performance and extends the life of your coffee maker.

Daily Cleaning

  • Always unplug the coffee maker before cleaning and allow it to cool completely.
  • Wash the glass carafe, reusable filter, and filter basket in warm, soapy water after each use. These parts are also dishwasher-safe (top rack recommended).
  • Wipe the exterior of the coffee maker and the warming plate with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or scouring pads.
  • Do not immerse the main unit, cord, or plug in water or any other liquid.

Descaling (Mineral Deposit Removal)

Mineral deposits (calcium) can build up in your coffee maker over time, affecting performance. Descale your coffee maker every 2-3 months, or more frequently if you have hard water.

  1. Prepare a descaling solution: Mix 1 part white vinegar with 2 parts cold water. For example, 1 cup vinegar to 2 cups water.
  2. Pour the solution into the water reservoir.
  3. Place the empty reusable filter and filter basket into position, and the empty carafe on the warming plate.
  4. Press the 'POWER' button to start a brewing cycle.
  5. After about 1 minute of brewing, press the 'POWER' button to turn off the coffee maker. Let it soak for at least 30 minutes to allow the solution to work.
  6. Press the 'POWER' button again to complete the brewing cycle. Discard the solution from the carafe.
  7. Run 2-3 full cycles with clean, cold water only to rinse out any remaining vinegar smell or taste.
