Introduction

The RockJam 49 Key Keyboard Piano is a versatile and compact instrument designed for both aspiring musicians and seasoned players. It offers a rich array of features to enhance your musical journey, including a wide selection of built-in tones and rhythms, demo songs, and recording functions. This manual will guide you through the setup, operation, and maintenance of your keyboard, ensuring you get the most out of your new instrument.

Key features include 49 full-sized keys, a reliable power supply, a sheet music stand, and piano note stickers for easy learning. Its lightweight and portable design allows for use in various settings, whether at home, in lessons, or on the go.

Setup

1. Unpacking and Initial Inspection

Carefully remove all components from the packaging. Ensure the following items are present:

Inspect the keyboard for any visible damage. If any components are missing or damaged, please contact customer support.

2. Powering Your Keyboard

Your RockJam keyboard can be powered in two ways:

  1. AC Adapter: Connect the included AC adapter to the DC 9V input jack on the back of the keyboard and plug the other end into a standard wall outlet.
  2. Batteries: For portable use, open the battery compartment on the underside of the keyboard. Insert 6 x AA batteries (not included), ensuring correct polarity. Close the battery compartment securely.

3. Attaching the Sheet Music Stand

Locate the two slots on the top rear of the keyboard. Align the tabs on the bottom of the sheet music stand with these slots and gently push down until it clicks securely into place.

4. Applying Piano Note Stickers

The included piano note stickers can assist beginners in identifying keys. Carefully peel each sticker and apply it to the corresponding white key, as indicated by the musical notation and note name on the sticker. Ensure the stickers are aligned neatly on the keys.

Operating the Keyboard

1. Power On/Off

Press the red POWER button located on the left side of the control panel to turn the keyboard on or off. A red indicator light will illuminate when the keyboard is on.

2. Volume Control

Adjust the overall volume using the VOL+ and VOL- buttons located near the center of the control panel. Press VOL+ to increase volume and VOL- to decrease it.

3. Selecting Tones (Instruments)

The keyboard features 100 built-in tones. To select a tone, press the TONE button, then use the numbered buttons (00-99) to enter the desired tone number. A list of common tones is printed on the keyboard for quick reference (e.g., Piano, Organ, Violin, Trumpet, Flute, Mandolin, Vibraphone, Guitar, Strings, Space).

4. Playing Rhythms

The keyboard includes various rhythms. To select a rhythm, press the RHYTHM button, then use the numbered buttons (00-99) to enter the desired rhythm number. Press the START/STOP button to begin or end the rhythm. Adjust the rhythm tempo using the TEMPO+ and TEMPO- buttons.

5. Demo Songs

The keyboard has pre-recorded demo songs. Press DEMO A or DEMO B to play a demonstration song. Press the button again to stop playback.

6. Recording and Playback

To record your performance:

  1. Press the RECORD button. The REC indicator light will illuminate.
  2. Play your desired melody on the keyboard.
  3. Press the RECORD button again to stop recording. The REC light will turn off.

To play back your recorded melody, press the PLAYBACK button.

7. Headphone Jack

A 3.5mm headphone jack is located on the back of the keyboard. Plug in headphones for private practice. The internal speakers will automatically mute when headphones are connected.

Maintenance

Cleaning

Wipe the keyboard surface with a soft, dry cloth. For stubborn dirt, use a slightly damp cloth and then dry thoroughly. Avoid using abrasive cleaners, solvents, or waxes, as these can damage the finish.

Storage

When not in use for extended periods, store the keyboard in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. If using batteries, remove them before long-term storage to prevent leakage.
