Introduction

The Genie G3T-R 3-Button Remote is designed to provide secure and convenient access to your garage. Featuring Intellicode Security technology, the access code changes with each door activation to prevent unauthorized entry. The remote also incorporates Auto-Seek Dual Frequency technology, which automatically selects between 315 or 390 MHz to minimize interference and enhance performance. This manual provides detailed instructions for setting up, operating, and maintaining your remote.

Setup

1. Unpacking and Components

Your Genie G3T-R remote package includes the following items:

2. Battery Activation

The CR2032 batteries are pre-installed in your remotes. To activate them, locate and pull out the small plastic tab extending from the battery compartment. This tab prevents battery drain during storage and shipping.

3. Attaching the Visor Clip

To attach the visor clip:

  1. Locate the slot on the back of the remote.
  2. Slide the metal visor clip into the slot until it clicks securely into place.

4. Programming the Remote

The Genie G3T-R remote is easily programmable for use with Genie garage door openers. The programming method depends on the age of your opener:

General programming steps often involve:

  1. Locate the 'Learn Code' button on your garage door opener's power head.
  2. Press and release the 'Learn Code' button. The LED indicator on the opener will begin to flash.
  3. Within 30 seconds, press and release the desired button on your G3T-R remote.
  4. The opener's LED will stop flashing and illuminate steadily, indicating successful programming.
  5. Test the remote by pressing the programmed button. The garage door should activate.

Operating

Using Your Genie G3T-R Remote

Once programmed, simply press the corresponding button on your remote to activate your garage door opener. The remote's three buttons allow you to control up to three different Genie garage door openers.

Intellicode Security Technology: This feature automatically changes the access code each time the door is activated, enhancing security by preventing code duplication.

Auto-Seek Dual Frequency Technology: The remote automatically switches between 315 MHz and 390 MHz frequencies to find the strongest signal, reducing interference from other devices and improving reliability.

HomeLink and Car2U Compatibility: The Genie G3T-R remote can be used to train built-in car wireless control systems like HomeLink and Car2U, allowing for integrated garage door operation from your vehicle.

Maintenance

Battery Replacement

The Genie G3T-R remote uses a CR2032 coin cell battery. When the remote's range decreases or it stops responding, it may be time to replace the battery.

  1. To open the remote casing, use a small coin or the visor clip as a lever in the small notch on the side of the remote.
  2. Carefully pry open the two halves of the remote.
  3. Remove the old CR2032 battery.
  4. Insert a new CR2032 battery with the positive (+) side facing up.
  5. Snap the two halves of the remote back together securely.
