Introduction

Designed for outdoor enthusiasts, naturalists, and wildlife observers, these binoculars combine lightweight portability with professional-grade optics. Setup

1. Adjusting Interpupillary Distance

Hold the binoculars with both hands and look through them. Adjust the distance between the two barrels until you see a single, circular field of view. This ensures proper alignment with your eyes.

2. Adjusting Eyecups

The Monarch HG binoculars feature turn-and-slide rubber eyecups. Rotate the eyecups up or down to achieve the optimal eye relief. If you wear eyeglasses, keep the eyecups fully retracted. If you do not wear eyeglasses, extend the eyecups until you see a full field of view without vignetting.

3. Diopter Adjustment

To compensate for differences in vision between your left and right eyes, adjust the diopter. First, close your right eye and focus on a distant object using only your left eye and the central focus wheel. Once the left eye is sharp, open your right eye and close your left eye. Adjust the diopter ring (usually on the right eyepiece) until the image is sharp for your right eye. The Monarch HG features a locking diopter adjustment ring to prevent accidental changes.

Operating Instructions

1. Focusing

After adjusting the interpupillary distance and diopter, use the central focus wheel to bring objects into sharp focus. Rotate the wheel slowly for precise adjustments.

2. Tripod Mounting

The Monarch HG binoculars are tripod adaptable. A tripod thread is located in the middle of the binocular body, allowing for stable viewing, especially during extended observation periods or when using them in a hide. This feature reduces arm fatigue and minimizes image shake.

Maintenance

1. Cleaning Lenses

To clean the lenses, first use a soft brush or a can of compressed air to remove any loose dust or debris. Then, use a clean microfiber cloth specifically designed for optics, along with a small amount of lens cleaning fluid, to gently wipe the lens surfaces. Avoid using abrasive materials or excessive force, as this can scratch the coatings.

2. Body Cleaning

Wipe the binocular body with a soft, damp cloth. For stubborn dirt, a mild soap solution can be used, followed by wiping with a clean, damp cloth and then drying thoroughly.

3. Storage

When not in use, store the binoculars in their semi-hard case with the objective lens covers and eyepiece caps in place. Store them in a cool, dry, and well-ventilated area, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. Avoid storing them in areas with high humidity to prevent mold growth.
