3. Product Overview

The CPE80R features a clear LED display that shows the operating mode (H/C for Master/Slave), channel, and signal strength. It includes a Master/Slave switch (H/C), a Reset button, a LAN port, and a PoE/WAN port. The PoE adapter provides power and data connectivity.

4. Setup

4.1 Basic Point-to-Point Configuration

For quick pairing, set one unit to Master (H) and the other to Client (C) using the H/C switch. Press the Reset button on both units for 1 second to initiate automatic pairing. This avoids complex GUI configuration.

4.2 Advanced Configuration (Web Interface)

To access the web interface for detailed settings, connect your computer to the CPE via an Ethernet cable. Configure your computer's IP address to match the CPE's subnet (default IP: 192.168.1.253, username: admin, password: admin). Refer to the quick guide for specific instructions. 4.3 Power over Ethernet (PoE) Connection

The CPE80R units are powered via Power over Ethernet (PoE) using the included 24V 0.5A PoE adapters. Connect the PoE adapter's PoE port to the CPE's PoE/WAN port, and the LAN port of the adapter to your router or network switch. Note that these devices use 24V PoE and are not compatible with standard 48V PoE switches.

5. Operating Modes

The CPE80R supports multiple operating modes to suit various network environments:

  • AP (Access Point) Mode: Functions as a wireless access point, broadcasting a Wi-Fi signal.
  • Bridge Mode (PTP/PTMP): Establishes a wireless link between two or more locations. Ideal for extending network connectivity over long distances, such as connecting IP surveillance cameras or extending home networks to outbuildings.

6. Installation Guidelines

For optimal performance, install the CPE80R units outdoors with a clear line of sight between them. The devices are designed to be waterproof and lightning-proof. Use the LED signal strength indicator on the device to assist with alignment for the best possible connection. The effective transmission distance is 2-3 kilometers.

  • Slow Speed: Ensure clear line of sight between units. Re-align units using the LED signal indicator. Check for interference from other 5GHz devices. Verify LAN port bandwidth (10/100Mbps).
  • Accessing Web Interface Issues: Confirm your computer's IP address is in the same subnet as the CPE. Double-check default login credentials.
