- Storage: When not in use for extended periods, store the keyboard in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
- Battery Care: To preserve battery health, avoid fully discharging the keyboard frequently. Charge it regularly, especially if it will be stored for a long time.
- Avoid Spills: Keep liquids away from the keyboard to prevent damage to internal components.
5. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your Satechi Aluminum Wireless Keyboard, please refer to the following common solutions:
- Keyboard Not Connecting/Frequent Disconnections:
- Ensure the keyboard is fully charged.
- Verify Bluetooth is enabled on your device.
- Move the keyboard closer to your device to rule out range issues.
- Try unpairing and re-pairing the keyboard with your device. Go to your device's Bluetooth settings, forget the keyboard, and then re-pair it as described in Section 2.2.
- Restart both your device and the keyboard.
- Keys Not Responding:
- Check if the keyboard is powered on and connected via Bluetooth.
- Ensure the keyboard battery is not critically low.
- Clean around the affected keys to remove any debris that might be obstructing them.
- Numeric Keypad Not Working:
- Ensure Num Lock is not accidentally engaged if your operating system supports it.
- Verify the keyboard is properly connected.
- Cannot Boot into Different OS (e.g., Bootcamp):
- The keyboard may not be recognized until the operating system fully boots. For booting into alternative operating systems like Windows via Bootcamp, you might need to use a wired keyboard or adjust boot settings within your primary OS.
