3. Setup
3.1 Unpacking
Carefully remove the radio and all accessories from the packaging. Verify that the following items are included:
- Sangean LB-100 Radio Receiver
- Owner's Manual (this document)
- Rubber FM Antenna
- 6-foot AC Power Cord
3.2 Powering the Unit
The Sangean LB-100 operates using AC power.
- Locate the integrated power cord storage on the back of the radio (refer to Figure 2.2).
- Unwind the 6-foot AC power cord.
- Insert the power cord into a standard 120V AC wall outlet.
3.3 Antenna Setup
For optimal reception, properly position the antenna.
- FM Reception: Attach the provided rubber FM antenna to the antenna jack on the top of the radio. Extend and adjust its position for the best FM signal.
- AM Reception: The radio features a built-in AM antenna. For improved AM reception, rotate the entire radio unit until the desired station is clear.
4. Operating Instructions
4.1 Power On/Off
Press the Power button (red circle with a line) located on the front panel to turn the radio on or off.
4.2 Selecting a Band (AM/FM)
Press the BAND button on the front panel to switch between AM and FM radio bands. The selected band will be indicated on the digital display.
4.3 Tuning to a Station
Use the Tuning Knob (typically the right knob on top) to manually scan for radio stations. Rotate the knob clockwise to increase the frequency and counter-clockwise to decrease it. The frequency will be shown on the digital display.
4.4 Adjusting Volume
Rotate the Volume Knob (typically the left knob on top) to adjust the audio output level. Turn clockwise to increase volume and counter-clockwise to decrease it. The radio features dynamic loudness for enhanced sound quality.
4.5 Setting and Recalling Presets
The radio allows you to store and quickly access your favorite stations using the preset buttons (1-5).
- To Set a Preset:
a. Tune to the desired station using the tuning knob.
b. Press and hold one of the preset buttons (1-5) for approximately 2 seconds until you hear a beep or see an indication on the display. The station is now saved to that preset number. - To Recall a Preset:
a. Briefly press the desired preset button (1-5). The radio will immediately tune to the saved station.

5.1 Cleaning
To clean the radio, use a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners, solvents, or strong detergents, as these can damage the finish or internal components. Ensure the radio is unplugged from the power source before cleaning.
5.2 Storage
When not in use for extended periods, store the radio in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. You may wrap the power cord around its integrated storage area on the back of the unit.
