Setup

Charging the Devices

Both the remote transmitter and receiver collar are powered by rechargeable lithium-ion batteries. Use the provided dual charging adaptor to charge both units simultaneously.

  1. Connect the charging adaptor to a standard wall outlet.
  2. Attach one charging clip to the charging port on the remote transmitter.
  3. Attach the other charging clip to the charging port on the receiver collar.
  4. Allow approximately 2 hours for a full charge. The indicator light will change when charging is complete.

A full charge provides 50-70 hours of runtime.

Fitting the Collar

Proper fit of the receiver collar is crucial for consistent and effective stimulation.

  1. Ensure the dog is standing comfortably.
  2. Center the receiver unit under the dog's neck, with the contact points touching the skin.
  3. Adjust the strap so it is snug, but not overly tight. You should be able to fit one finger snugly between the strap and the dog's neck.
  4. If your dog has long or thick fur, you may need to trim the fur around the contact points or use the longer contact points provided to ensure proper skin contact.

Pairing the Remote and Collar

The remote and collar are typically paired from the factory. If re-pairing is necessary, refer to the detailed instructions in the full manual or contact customer support.

Operating the Trainer

The WetlandHunter 425X offers tone, vibration, and static stimulation modes.

Stimulation Modes and Intensity

  • Tone: Delivers an audible tone to the receiver collar.
  • Vibration: Delivers a non-stimulating vibration to the receiver collar.
  • Static Stimulation: Delivers a safe, momentary static pulse. The intensity dial allows adjustment from level 1 (lowest) to 7 (highest). The 'V/T' setting on the dial activates vibration or tone, depending on the remote's configuration.

Using the Remote Buttons

  • Intensity Dial: Rotates to select the desired static stimulation level (1-7) or the V/T (Vibration/Tone) setting.
  • Side Button: Delivers high continuous static stimulation (when dial is on a static level) or a pre-programmed function.
  • Upper Button: Delivers medium continuous static stimulation (when dial is on a static level) or a pre-programmed function.
  • Lower Button: Delivers low continuous static stimulation (when dial is on a static level) or a pre-programmed function.

The remote has a 500-yard range, allowing for effective control at a distance.

Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Wipe down the remote and collar with a damp cloth as needed. Avoid harsh chemicals.
  • Contact Points: Regularly inspect contact points for corrosion or damage. Clean them with a soft brush if dirt or debris accumulates. Replace if damaged.
  • Battery Care: Charge the batteries fully before long periods of storage. Store in a cool, dry place.
  • Collar Strap: Inspect the collar strap for wear and tear. Replace if it becomes frayed or damaged to ensure secure fit.
