1. Introduction

The Kuvings Sorbet Strainer is an original accessory designed exclusively for the Kuvings B1700 Cold Press Juicer. This attachment allows you to transform frozen fruits into delicious, healthy sorbets and soft-serve desserts. It is also referred to as the blank strainer or ice-cream strainer. This manual provides essential information for the safe and effective use of your Sorbet Strainer.

2. Safety Information

Please read and understand all safety instructions before using the Kuvings Sorbet Strainer. Failure to follow these instructions may result in injury or damage to the product.

• Compatibility: This Sorbet Strainer is compatible only with the Kuvings B1700 Cold Press Juicer. Do not attempt to use it with other juicer models.
• Power Off: Always ensure the juicer is unplugged from the power outlet before assembling, disassembling, or cleaning any components.
• Frozen Ingredients Only: Use only frozen fruits or other frozen ingredients as specified in the operating instructions. Do not process unfrozen or hard, non-food items.
• Supervision: Keep the juicer and its accessories out of reach of children. Adult supervision is required when the appliance is in use.
• No Foreign Objects: Do not insert fingers or any utensils into the feeding chute while the juicer is operating. Use the provided pusher if necessary.

4. Setup and Installation

Follow these steps to correctly install the Sorbet Strainer into your Kuvings B1700 Cold Press Juicer:

1. Ensure Juicer is Off and Unplugged: Before handling any parts, make sure your Kuvings B1700 Cold Press Juicer is turned off and disconnected from the power supply.
2. Disassemble Juicing Components: Remove the hopper, juicing screw, and the standard juicing strainer from the juicing bowl.
3. Insert Sorbet Strainer: Place the Sorbet Strainer into the juicing bowl, ensuring it sits securely and correctly.
4. Insert Juicing Screw: Place the juicing screw into the center of the Sorbet Strainer.
5. Reassemble Remaining Parts: Attach the rotating wiper and the hopper. Ensure all components are aligned and locked into place. The juicer will not operate if parts are not correctly assembled.

5. Operating Instructions

Once the Sorbet Strainer is installed, you can begin making frozen desserts.

5.1. Ingredient Preparation

• Choose Fruits: Select ripe fruits such as mango, strawberry, blueberry, kiwi, banana, or grapes.
• Prepare and Freeze: Peel and cut fruits into appropriate sizes (small enough to fit the feeding chute). Place the cut fruit in a freezer-safe container and freeze for at least 5 hours, or until solid.
• Thaw Slightly (Optional): For a creamier texture, you may allow the frozen fruit to thaw for 5-10 minutes at room temperature before processing.

5.2. Sorbet Making Process

1. Position Containers: Place a suitable container under the pulp outlet to collect the sorbet.
2. Open Smart Cap: Ensure the smart cap on the juicing bowl is in the open position.
3. Turn On Juicer: Plug in the juicer and turn it on.
4. Feed Ingredients: Slowly feed the frozen fruit pieces one by one into the feeding chute. Use the pusher only if necessary to guide the ingredients. Avoid forcing large quantities at once.
5. Collect Sorbet: The processed sorbet will be dispensed from the pulp outlet.
6. Turn Off Juicer: Once all ingredients are processed, turn off the juicer and unplug it.

6. Maintenance and Cleaning

Proper cleaning and maintenance will ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your Sorbet Strainer.

• Immediate Cleaning: Clean the Sorbet Strainer immediately after each use to prevent food residue from drying and hardening.
• Disassembly: Disassemble all removable parts of the juicer, including the Sorbet Strainer, juicing screw, rotating wiper, and juicing bowl.
• Rinsing: Rinse all parts under running water. The Sorbet Strainer is designed for quick rinsing.
• Washing: Wash the Sorbet Strainer and other components carefully with warm, soapy water and a soft brush or sponge.
• Not Dishwasher Safe: The Kuvings Sorbet Strainer and other juicer components are not dishwasher safe. Hand wash only.
• Drying and Storage: Dry all parts thoroughly before reassembling or storing. Store in a clean, dry place.

7. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues while using your Kuvings Sorbet Strainer, refer to the following common problems and solutions:

• Problem: The juicer does not turn on after installing the Sorbet Strainer.
  Solution: Ensure the juicer is properly plugged into a working power outlet. Verify that all components, including the juicing bowl, Sorbet Strainer, juicing screw, and hopper, are correctly assembled and locked into place. The juicer has safety mechanisms that prevent operation if parts are misaligned.
• Problem: The sorbet texture is not smooth or appears watery.
  Solution: Ensure that the fruits used were thoroughly frozen for at least 5 hours. If fruits are not frozen solid, the output may be less consistent. Feed frozen ingredients slowly, one piece at a time, to allow the juicer to process them effectively.
• Problem: The Sorbet Strainer does not fit my juicer.
  Solution: This Sorbet Strainer is designed exclusively for the Kuvings B1700 Cold Press Juicer. Please confirm your juicer model number. It is not compatible with other Kuvings models.
• Problem: The juicer stops during operation.
  Solution: This could be due to overloading. Turn off the juicer, unplug it, and clear any blockages. Ensure you are feeding ingredients slowly and not forcing too much at once. Allow the motor to cool if it has been running for an extended period.
