6. Installation

Follow these steps to physically install your eMylo Smart WiFi Switch:

1. Turn Off Power: Before starting, ensure the main power supply to the circuit you are working on is turned off at the circuit breaker to prevent electric shock.
2. Identify Wires: Locate the live (L) and neutral (N) wires for both the input (power source) and output (to the light/appliance). The eMylo switch has clearly labeled input and output terminals.
3. Connect Input Wires: Use the provided quick wiring connectors to connect the live (L) and neutral (N) wires from your power source to the 'Input' side of the eMylo switch. Ensure a secure connection by lifting the orange levers, inserting the stripped wire ends, and pushing the levers back down.
4. Connect Output Wires: Similarly, connect the live (L) and neutral (N) wires leading to your light fixture or appliance to the 'Output' side of the eMylo switch using the quick wiring connectors.
5. Secure the Module: Place the eMylo switch in a suitable, safe location, such as inside a junction box or light fixture canopy, ensuring it is not exposed to moisture or physical damage. The compact design allows for flexible placement.
6. Restore Power: Once all connections are secure and the module is safely housed, restore power at the circuit breaker.

7. App Setup & Device Pairing

To control your eMylo Smart WiFi Switch, you need to pair it with the Smart Life or Tuya app:

1. Download the App: Download and install the 'Smart Life' or 'Tuya Smart' app from the App Store (iOS) or Google Play Store (Android).
2. Register/Log In: Open the app and register for a new account or log in if you already have one.
3. Add Device: Tap the '+' icon in the top right corner of the app to add a new device. Select 'Electrical' > 'Switch (Wi-Fi)' or use the 'Auto Scan' feature.
4. Reset Device: Power on the eMylo switch. If the indicator light is not blinking rapidly, press and hold the small button on the switch for approximately 5 seconds until the indicator light starts blinking rapidly. This puts the device into pairing mode.
5. Connect to Wi-Fi: In the app, confirm the indicator is blinking rapidly. Select your 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network and enter the password. The device only supports 2.4GHz Wi-Fi.
6. Pairing Process: The app will begin searching for and adding the device. This may take a few moments.
7. Device Added: Once successfully added, you can rename the device and start controlling it through the app.

8. Operation

8.1. App Remote Control

After successful pairing, you can control your device from anywhere with an internet connection:

• Open the Smart Life or Tuya app.
• Select your eMylo Smart WiFi Switch from the device list.
• Tap the power icon to turn the connected light or appliance ON or OFF.

8.2. Voice Control

Integrate your eMylo switch with Amazon Alexa or Google Home for voice commands:

• Ensure your Alexa or Google Home device is set up and connected to the same Wi-Fi network.
• Enable the 'Smart Life' or 'Tuya Smart' skill/action in your Alexa or Google Home app.
• Discover devices. Your eMylo switch will appear.
• Use voice commands such as: "Alexa, turn on the living room light" or "Hey Google, turn off the bedroom lamp."

8.3. Timer and Countdown Functions

Automate your devices with scheduled operations:

• In the app, select your eMylo switch.
• Navigate to the 'Timer' or 'Countdown' section.
• Set specific times for the device to turn ON or OFF daily, weekly, or on custom schedules.
• Use the countdown feature to automatically turn off a device after a set period.

9. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your eMylo Smart WiFi Switch, refer to the following common problems and solutions:

• Device Not Pairing:
  • Ensure your Wi-Fi network is 2.4GHz. The device does not support 5GHz Wi-Fi.
  • Confirm the indicator light on the switch is blinking rapidly, indicating pairing mode. If not, press and hold the button for 5 seconds to reset.
  • Check your Wi-Fi signal strength. Move the device closer to your router if necessary.
  • Verify the Wi-Fi password entered in the app is correct.
• Device Not Responding to App/Voice Commands:
  • Check your internet connection.
  • Ensure the eMylo switch is powered on and its indicator light is solid (not blinking).
  • Restart the eMylo switch by turning off and on the power supply.
  • Verify that the Smart Life/Tuya app is updated to the latest version.
  • For voice control, ensure the Smart Life/Tuya skill/action is enabled in your Alexa/Google Home app and devices are discovered.
• Device Does Not Turn On After Power Outage (if controlled by a physical wall switch):
  • The eMylo switch requires continuous power to maintain its Wi-Fi connection and smart functionality. If a physical wall switch is used to cut power to the eMylo module, it will lose its smart capabilities until power is restored.
  • For optimal smart home integration, it is recommended to keep the eMylo switch constantly powered and use the app or voice commands for control, or ensure the physical switch is always in the 'ON' position.
• Overheating:
  • Ensure the connected load does not exceed the maximum rating of 10 Amperes or 2200 Watts.
  • Provide adequate ventilation around the module.
