4. Setup

4.1 Charging the Device

Before first use, fully charge the device. Connect the provided USB cable to the monitor's charging port and the other end to a USB power adapter (not included) or a computer's USB port. The battery indicator on the screen will show charging status.

4.2 Installing the Application/Software

For Smartphones (iOS/Android):

  1. Search for "EMAY ECG" or "EMAY Monitor" in the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.

Ensure Bluetooth is enabled on your smartphone. Open the EMAY app and follow the instructions to pair your device. The app will guide you through the connection process.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Taking an ECG Measurement

The EMAY ECG Monitor offers several methods for taking a measurement. Ensure your skin is clean and dry for optimal contact.

  • Two-Hand Method (Lead I): Hold the device with both hands, placing your thumbs or fingers on the metal electrodes. Remain still and relaxed for 30 seconds.
  • Chest Lead Method: Place one electrode on your chest (near the heart) and hold the other electrode with your hand.
  • Leg/Ankle Lead Method (Lead II): Place one electrode on your ankle/leg and hold the other electrode with your hand.

The device will display the ECG waveform and heart rate in real-time. After 30 seconds, the measurement will be complete and saved automatically.

5.2 Understanding the Display

The device's LCD screen shows:

  • Heart Rate (BPM): Your current heart rate in beats per minute.
  • ECG Waveform: A real-time graph of your heart's electrical activity.
  • Time Remaining: Countdown for the 30-second measurement.
  • Battery Indicator: Shows remaining battery life.

6. Data Management and Reporting

6.1 Syncing Data

To transfer recorded data to your smartphone or PC:

  • Via Bluetooth (Smartphone): Open the EMAY app. The app will automatically sync new measurements from the device when connected via Bluetooth.
  • Via USB Cable (PC): Connect the device to your computer using the USB cable. Open the EMAY PC software, which will detect the device and allow you to import stored data.

6.2 Reviewing and Analyzing Data

The EMAY app and PC software allow you to:

  • View detailed ECG waveforms for each recording.
  • Identify potential abnormalities such as arrhythmias, missed beats, tachycardia, bradycardia, ST elevation, ST depression, and PVCs.

6.3 Generating and Sharing Reports

Both the app and PC software enable you to generate professional PDF reports of your ECG recordings. These reports can be easily shared with healthcare professionals for review.

7. Maintenance and Care

  • Cleaning: Wipe the device with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or immerse the device in water.
  • Storage: Store the device in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
  • Battery Care: To prolong battery life, avoid fully discharging the battery frequently. Charge the device regularly, even if not in use for extended periods.
  • Handling: Handle the device with care. Avoid dropping it or subjecting it to strong impacts.
