Operation

Making Ice Cream or Yogurt

  1. Prepare Ingredients: Prepare your ice cream or yogurt mixture according to your recipe. Ensure the mixture is chilled (refrigerated) for best results, though pre-cooling is not strictly necessary due to the built-in compressor.
  2. Pour Mixture: With the lid secured and the mixing paddle in place, pour the prepared mixture through the ingredient chute into the mixing bowl. Do not fill the bowl more than 50% to allow for expansion during freezing.
  3. A hand pouring liquid ice cream mixture into the Klarstein Vanilly Sky Family Ice Cream Maker through the lid's opening.

  4. Set Timer: Use the control panel to set the desired preparation time. The typical range is 10-60 minutes, depending on the recipe and desired consistency. An LED display shows the selected or remaining time.
  5. Start Churning: Press the Start/Pause button to begin the churning process. The machine will start mixing and cooling simultaneously.
  6. Add Additional Ingredients (Optional): If your recipe calls for adding solid ingredients like chocolate chips, nuts, or fruit pieces, you can add them through the ingredient chute during the last 5-10 minutes of the churning cycle.
  7. Monitor Progress: The machine will churn and freeze the mixture. You can observe the consistency through the transparent lid.
  8. The Klarstein Vanilly Sky Family Ice Cream Maker with finished ice cream inside the bowl.

  9. Completion: Once the set time expires, the machine will automatically stop churning. It will then switch to a cooling mode to keep the ice cream frozen for a period (usually 1 hour) before automatically shutting off.
  10. Serve: Remove the lid and mixing paddle. Use the provided spatula to scoop the ice cream or yogurt into serving bowls. For firmer consistency, transfer the ice cream to an airtight container and place it in the freezer for 1-2 hours.

Pause Function

The machine features a pause function. Press the Start/Pause button during operation to temporarily stop the churning and cooling. This is useful if you need to adjust the recipe or add ingredients. Press the button again to resume.

Maintenance and Cleaning

Regular cleaning ensures optimal performance and longevity of your ice cream maker.

  1. Unplug: Always unplug the appliance from the power outlet before cleaning.
  2. Disassemble: Remove the lid, mixing paddle, and mixing bowl from the main unit.
  3. Clean Removable Parts:
    • The stainless steel mixing bowl is dishwasher safe.
    • The mixing paddle, lid, measuring cup, and spatula should be hand washed with warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry completely.
  4. Clean Main Unit: Wipe the exterior of the main unit with a damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or scourers. Never immerse the main unit in water or any other liquid.
  5. Dry Thoroughly: Ensure all parts are completely dry before reassembling or storing the appliance.
  6. Storage: Store the ice cream maker in a clean, dry place.
