Setup
1. Battery Installation
The mouse operates on one AA battery (included). Open the battery compartment on the underside of the mouse and insert the battery, ensuring correct polarity. Close the compartment securely.

2. Connection Modes
The EX-G Pro offers three connection methods: Wired, Wireless (2.4GHz), and Bluetooth. Select the desired mode using the switch on the underside of the mouse.

- Wired Connection: Connect the mouse directly to your computer using the supplied USB cable. No battery is required in this mode.
- Wireless (2.4GHz) Connection: Insert the tiny USB receiver (stored in the mouse's underside compartment) into an available USB port on your computer. Switch the mouse to 2.4GHz wireless mode.
- Bluetooth Connection: Switch the mouse to Bluetooth mode. On your computer or device, search for and pair with the 'ELECOM EX-G Pro' device.
3. Software Installation (ELECOM Mouse Assistant)
For full customization of the 8 buttons and other advanced settings, download and install the 'ELECOM Mouse Assistant' software from the official ELECOM website. This software is compatible with Windows 10/11 and macOS 10.13 or later.
Operating Instructions
1. Button Assignments
The EX-G Pro trackball mouse features multiple programmable buttons for enhanced control. Refer to the diagram below for default assignments and locations.

- Left/Right Buttons: Standard mouse click functions.
- Scroll Wheel: Vertical scrolling. Pressing the wheel acts as a middle click.
- Tilt Wheel: Tilting the scroll wheel left or right enables horizontal scrolling.
- Forward/Back Buttons: Located near the trackball, these buttons facilitate web browsing navigation.
- Function Assignment Buttons: Additional buttons that can be customized using the ELECOM Mouse Assistant software.
2. Adjusting DPI (Cursor Speed)
The DPI button, located on the underside of the mouse, allows you to cycle through three cursor speed settings: 500 DPI (Low), 1000 DPI (Mid), and 1500 DPI (High). Select the speed that best suits your task and preference.
3. Ergonomic Use
The ergonomic design is optimized for thumb control. Position your hand comfortably over the mouse, allowing your thumb to naturally rest on the trackball for smooth and precise cursor manipulation.

Maintenance
Cleaning the Trackball
To maintain optimal performance, regularly clean the trackball and its bearings. The trackball can be easily popped out by pushing it through the hole in the bottom of the device. Wipe the trackball and the three ruby ball bearings with a soft, lint-free cloth to remove any dust or dirt. This prevents stickiness and ensures smooth operation.
Troubleshooting
- No Cursor Movement:
- Ensure the mouse is powered on and the battery is charged or correctly installed.
- Verify the connection mode switch (Wired/Wireless/Bluetooth) is set correctly.
- For Wireless (2.4GHz), ensure the USB receiver is securely plugged into a working USB port.
- For Bluetooth, ensure the mouse is paired with your device and Bluetooth is enabled on your computer.
- Clean the trackball and its bearings as described in the Maintenance section.
- Buttons Not Responding:
- Check if the ELECOM Mouse Assistant software is installed and configured correctly.
- Ensure no other software is interfering with button assignments.
- Intermittent Connectivity:
- Move the mouse closer to the receiver or Bluetooth device to reduce interference.
- Avoid using the mouse near other wireless devices that might cause interference.
- Try a different USB port for the wireless receiver.
