Maintenance
Cleaning
- Drip Tray: The drip tray can hold an accidental overflow. Remove and wash it with warm, soapy water.
- Water Reservoir: Clean the removable water reservoir regularly with warm, soapy water and rinse thoroughly.
- K-Cup Pod Holder: Remove the K-Cup pod holder and wash it with warm, soapy water. Ensure the exit needle is clear.
- Exterior: Wipe the exterior of the brewer with a damp cloth.
Descaling
Mineral deposits can build up in your coffee maker over time, affecting performance. Descale your brewer every 3 to 6 months, or more frequently if you have hard water. Refer to the official Keurig descaling solution instructions or use a vinegar solution:
- Empty the water reservoir.
- Fill the reservoir halfway with white vinegar and the rest with water.
- Place a large mug on the drip tray (without a K-Cup pod).
- Run several brew cycles until the reservoir is empty.
- Rinse the reservoir and fill with fresh water. Run several fresh water cycles to flush out any vinegar residue.
