Operating Instructions
The Glacier Bay Aragon faucet features two lever handles for precise control over water temperature and flow, and a diverter on the tub spout to switch between tub and shower functions.
- Turning Water On/Off: Rotate the left handle counter-clockwise for hot water and the right handle counter-clockwise for cold water. Rotate clockwise to turn off.
- Adjusting Temperature: Mix hot and cold water by adjusting both handles until the desired temperature is achieved.
- Diverting to Shower: To switch water flow from the tub spout to the shower head, pull up the diverter knob located on top of the tub spout. Push down to return water flow to the tub spout.
Maintenance
To maintain the chrome finish and ensure proper function, follow these cleaning and care guidelines:
- Cleaning the Finish: Clean the chrome finish with a soft, damp cloth and mild soap. Rinse thoroughly with clean water and dry with a soft towel to prevent water spots.
- Avoid Harsh Cleaners: Do not use abrasive cleaners, harsh chemicals, or scouring pads, as these can damage the chrome finish.
- Shower Head Cleaning: Periodically clean the rubber nozzles of the shower head by gently rubbing them to dislodge mineral deposits. For stubborn clogs, unscrew the shower head and soak it in a solution of white vinegar and water.
- Washerless Cartridges: The faucet uses washerless cartridges for smooth operation and long life, requiring minimal internal maintenance.
Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Low Water Pressure | Clogged shower head nozzles or aerator. | Clean shower head nozzles. Check for debris in the aerator of the tub spout. |
| Leaking from Handles | Loose connections or worn cartridge. | Ensure handle screws are tight. If leaking persists, the cartridge may need replacement. Consult a plumber. |
| Water Not Diverting to Shower | Diverter mechanism on tub spout is stuck or faulty. | Ensure the diverter knob is fully pulled up. Clean any debris around the diverter. If issue persists, tub spout may need replacement. |
| Inconsistent Water Temperature | Issue with the pressure balance valve or water heater. | Check water heater settings. If the problem continues, the pressure balance valve may require inspection by a professional. |
