  • For stubborn food residue, allow the vessel to soak in warm, soapy water before cleaning.

Cleaning the Heating Base

  • Always ensure the heating base is unplugged and completely cool before cleaning.
  • Wipe the exterior of the heating base with a damp cloth. Do not immerse the heating base in water or any other liquid.

Thermal Carrying Case

  • The thermal carrying case can be spot cleaned with a damp cloth. Do not machine wash.

6. Troubleshooting

If you encounter any issues with your West Bend Slow Cooker, refer to the following common problems and solutions:

  • Appliance not heating: Ensure the power cord is securely plugged into a working electrical outlet. Check if the control knob is set to a cooking temperature (LOW or HIGH) and not 'OFF' or 'WARM'.
  • Food cooking too slowly or quickly: Adjust the cooking time and temperature setting (LOW or HIGH) according to your recipe and desired doneness. Factors like ingredient quantity and initial temperature can affect cooking times.
  • Food sticking to the vessel: Ensure you are using appropriate cooking oils or non-stick sprays as needed. The non-stick coating should prevent most sticking, but excessive heat or prolonged cooking of certain foods can sometimes cause issues.
  • Lid does not seal properly: Check for any food debris or damage around the rim of the cooking vessel or lid that might prevent a tight seal.
