Step 1: Install the Receiver

  1. Plug the receiver into a standard electrical outlet (110-220V) in a central location within your home or office.
  2. Ensure the outlet is easily accessible and not obstructed.

CACAZI Doorbell Installation Instructions

Option A: Using Double-Sided Adhesive Tape

  1. Clean the desired mounting surface thoroughly to ensure it is dry and free of dust or grease.
  2. Peel off one side of the protective film from the double-sided adhesive tape and apply it firmly to the back of the transmitter.
  3. Peel off the other side of the protective film and press the transmitter firmly onto the cleaned surface for at least 30 seconds.

Option B: Using Screws and Anchors

  1. Carefully open the back casing of the transmitter to expose the mounting holes.
  2. Mark the desired drilling spots on the wall using the transmitter's mounting holes as a guide.
  3. Drill pilot holes if necessary and insert the wall anchors.
  4. Secure the transmitter's back casing to the wall using the provided screws.
  5. Snap the front part of the transmitter back onto the secured casing.

4. Operating Instructions

Changing Chimes:

To select a different melody, press the chime selection button located on the side of the receiver. Each press will cycle through the 36 available chimes. Stop pressing when you hear your preferred melody.

Adjusting Volume:

To adjust the volume level, press the volume button on the side of the receiver. There are 4 volume levels to choose from. Each press will cycle through the volume settings (low, medium, high, mute).

Pairing (if needed):

Your doorbell kit is pre-paired at the factory. If re-pairing is necessary (e.g., after a power outage or adding another transmitter/receiver), follow these steps:

  1. Plug in the receiver.
  2. Press and hold the volume button on the receiver for approximately 5 seconds until you hear a 'ding' sound and the LED indicator flashes rapidly. The receiver is now in pairing mode.
  3. Immediately press the push button on the transmitter. The receiver will chime, indicating successful pairing.
  4. Test the doorbell by pressing the transmitter button.

5. Maintenance

Cleaning:

Wipe the doorbell receiver and transmitter with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents, as these may damage the surface.

Transmitter Battery Replacement:

The transmitter is powered by a 12V23A alkaline battery, which typically lasts about 2 years. When the doorbell's range decreases or the transmitter stops working, it's time to replace the battery.

  1. Carefully open the back casing of the transmitter (you may need a small screwdriver).
  2. Remove the old 12V23A battery.
  3. Insert a new 12V23A alkaline battery, ensuring the correct polarity (+/-).
  4. Close the back casing securely.

Note: The receiver plugs into a wall circuit and does not require batteries.

6. Troubleshooting

  • No sound from receiver:
    • Ensure the receiver is properly plugged into a live electrical outlet.
    • Check if the volume is set to mute. Press the volume button to increase the volume.
    • Replace the battery in the transmitter if it's old or depleted.
    • Re-pair the transmitter and receiver (refer to Section 4: Operating Instructions - Pairing).
  • Short operating range or intermittent signal:
    • Ensure the transmitter is not mounted on an iron door or a large metal surface, as this can block the signal.
    • Relocate the receiver to a more central position, away from large metal objects, thick walls, or other electronic devices that may cause interference.
    • Replace the transmitter battery.
  • Transmitter not working:
    • Check and replace the 12V23A battery in the transmitter.
    • Ensure the transmitter and receiver are paired correctly.
