Model: Roomba 675 (R675020)

Product Overview

The iRobot Roomba 675 robot vacuum is designed to provide efficient and convenient cleaning for your home. Featuring a patented 3-Stage Cleaning System, it effectively loosens, lifts, and suctions dirt, dust, and debris from various floor types, including carpets and hard floors. With Wi-Fi connectivity, you can control and schedule cleaning sessions from anywhere using the iRobot HOME App, or through voice commands with compatible smart home devices like Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant.

Setup Guide

Follow these steps to set up your Roomba 675 robot vacuum for the first time:

  1. Unpack the Robot: Carefully remove the Roomba robot, Home Base charging station, and power cord from the packaging.
  2. Place the Home Base: Choose a location for the Home Base that is on a level, hard surface, against a wall, and has at least 1.5 feet (0.5 meters) of clear space on each side and 4 feet (1.2 meters) in front. Ensure there are no obstacles blocking the robot's path to the Home Base.
  3. Charge the Battery: Plug the power cord into the Home Base and then into a wall outlet. Place the Roomba onto the Home Base, ensuring the metal charging contacts on the robot align with those on the Home Base. The battery indicator light will pulse amber while charging and turn solid green when fully charged. Allow at least 3 hours for the initial charge.
  4. Download the iRobot HOME App: For full functionality, download the iRobot HOME App on your smartphone or tablet. The app allows you to schedule cleanings, customize preferences, and monitor cleaning status.
  5. Connect to Wi-Fi: Follow the in-app instructions to connect your Roomba to your home Wi-Fi network. This enables smart features and app control.

Cleaning Performance

The Roomba 675 is equipped with advanced cleaning technologies to ensure thorough floor cleaning:

  • 3-Stage Cleaning System: This system uses a combination of agitation, brushing, and suction to effectively remove dirt, dust, and pet hair from your floors.
  • Dual Multi-Surface Brushes: These brushes work together to grab everything from small particles to large debris, adapting to different floor surfaces.
  • Dirt Detect™ Technology: Patented Dirt Detect™ sensors recognize concentrated areas of dirt, like high-traffic zones, and prompt the robot to clean them more thoroughly.
  • Auto-Adjust Cleaning Head: The cleaning head automatically adapts its height to keep the Multi-Surface Brushes in close contact with different floor surfaces, ensuring effective cleaning on both carpets and hard floors.

Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures your Roomba operates at peak performance:

  • Empty the Dust Bin: The dust bin should be emptied after each cleaning cycle, or when the full bin indicator illuminates. To empty, press the bin release tab and pull the bin straight out. Open the bin door and shake out debris into a trash can.
  • Clean the Filter: The filter should be cleaned weekly (more often if you have pets). Remove the filter from the dust bin and tap it against a trash can to remove debris. Replace the filter every 2-3 months.
  • Clean the Brushes: The Multi-Surface Brushes and Side Brush should be cleaned regularly to remove hair and debris. Refer to the full user manual for detailed instructions on removing and cleaning these components.
  • Clean the Sensors: Wipe the cliff sensors, charging contacts, and front caster wheel with a clean, dry cloth to maintain optimal navigation and charging.

Troubleshooting

If your Roomba encounters an issue, try these common troubleshooting steps:

  • Robot Not Charging: Ensure the Home Base is plugged in and the power indicator light is on. Check that the charging contacts on both the robot and Home Base are clean and free of debris.
  • Robot Not Docking: Verify the Home Base is placed in an open area with sufficient clear space. Clean the charging contacts on both the robot and Home Base.
  • Error Messages: If the robot speaks an error message or displays a blinking indicator, consult the iRobot HOME App or the full user manual for specific error codes and solutions.
  • Poor Cleaning Performance: Empty the dust bin, clean or replace the filter, and clean the Multi-Surface Brushes and Side Brush. Ensure the robot's sensors are clean.
  • Robot Stuck: Clear any obstacles from the robot's path. If the robot frequently gets stuck in certain areas, consider using Virtual Wall Barriers (sold separately) to block off those areas.
