5. Troubleshooting

This section addresses common issues you might encounter with your Hantek 1008C+.

5.1. Software Crashing or Freezing

  • Cause: Older software versions, driver conflicts, or sudden disconnection of the device.
  • Solution: Ensure you are using the latest software and drivers from the official Hantek website. Avoid unplugging the oscilloscope while the software is actively running. If crashes persist, try reinstalling the software and drivers.

5.2. Device Not Recognized by PC

  • Cause: Incorrect driver installation, driver signature enforcement, or faulty USB connection.
  • Solution: Verify that the drivers are correctly installed. On Windows, you might need to temporarily disable driver signature enforcement during installation. Try connecting to a different USB 2.0 port or using a different USB cable.

5.3. Inaccurate or No Waveform Display

  • Cause: Incorrect probe connection, damaged probes/cables, or incorrect software settings.
  • Solution: Ensure probes are securely connected to both the oscilloscope and the test point. Check for any visible damage to probes or cables. Verify that the software settings (e.g., voltage range, time base) are appropriate for the signal being measured.

5.4. Saved Files are Empty (Zero Bytes)

  • Cause: Software bug or interruption during the save process.
  • Solution: Ensure the software is stable and not crashing when saving. Update to the latest software version. Try saving to a different directory on your computer.
