5. Setup & Installation

  2. Disassemble the Gland: Unscrew the sealing nut from the main body of the cable gland. The gland typically consists of a main body (with external thread), a sealing washer, a claw/clamping part, and a sealing nut.
  3. Insert Main Body: Insert the threaded main body of the cable gland into the prepared hole from the outside of the enclosure.
  4. Secure with Locknut: From the inside of the enclosure, screw on the locknut (if provided separately, otherwise the main body itself has a flange) to secure the gland to the enclosure. Tighten firmly by hand, then use a wrench for a final snug fit, but do not overtighten.
  5. Insert Cable: Pass the cable through the sealing nut, then through the clamping part, and finally through the main body of the gland. Ensure the cable is centered.
  6. Tighten Sealing Nut: Screw the sealing nut onto the main body of the gland. As you tighten, the internal clamping part will compress around the cable, creating a tight seal.

  7. Verify Seal: Ensure the cable is firmly gripped and there is no visible gap between the gland and the cable or the gland and the enclosure. The seal should be snug to provide waterproof and dust-proof protection.
