Installation
The Tech Drive Bathroom Fan offers flexible installation options for both new and existing constructions. Always ensure power is disconnected before installation.
Installation for New Construction
- Prepare Opening: Ensure the ceiling opening matches the specified dimensions (9.25" x 8.9").
- Mount Housing: Attach the fan housing mounts directly to the ceiling joists if the spacing is 12 inches. For joist spacing between 16 and 24 inches, use the provided suspension brackets to secure the fan housing.
- Duct Connection: Connect the 4-inch ductwork to the fan's exhaust port. Ensure a tight seal to prevent air leakage.
- Wiring: Route electrical wiring into the fan's junction box. Connect the fan's white wire to the house white wire, the fan's black wire to the house black wire, and the green ground wire to the house ground wire. Secure connections with wire nuts.
- Secure Grille: Once the ceiling is finished, attach the grille to the fan housing.
Installation for Existing Construction (No Attic Access Needed)
- Remove Old Fan: Disconnect power and remove the existing bathroom fan.
- Prepare Opening: Enlarge or adjust the ceiling opening as necessary to fit the Tech Drive fan housing (9.25" x 8.9").
- Mount Housing: The fan can be installed entirely from the room-ceiling side. Follow the instructions for securing the fan housing within the ceiling opening, utilizing the provided mounting hardware designed for this type of installation.
- Duct Connection: Connect the existing 4-inch ductwork to the fan's exhaust port.
- Wiring: Route electrical wiring into the fan's junction box. Connect the fan's white wire to the house white wire, the fan's black wire to the house black wire, and the green ground wire to the house ground wire. Secure connections with wire nuts.
- Secure Grille: Attach the grille to the fan housing.

Operation
The Tech Drive Bathroom Fan offers two primary operation modes: Manual and Humidity Sensing. These modes are controlled via your wall switch.
Switching Operation Modes
To switch between modes or turn the fan off, use the wall ON/OFF switch as follows:
- Full Speed Mode (Manual Mode): Cycle the wall ON/OFF switch to the "OFF" position, then back to the "ON" position. The LED indicator light on the fan will be RED. In this mode, the fan will run continuously until manually turned off.
- Humidity Sensing Mode: Move the wall ON/OFF switch to the "OFF" position, then back to the "ON" position twice within 10 seconds. The LED indicator light on the fan will be GREEN. In this mode, the fan will automatically turn on when the humidity level in the room rises above 60% and will turn off once humidity levels return to normal.
- Fan Off: Move the wall ON/OFF switch to the "OFF" position. The fan will turn off, and the LED indicator will extinguish.

Maintenance
Regular cleaning and maintenance will ensure optimal performance and longevity of your Tech Drive Bathroom Fan.
Cleaning the Fan Grille
- Disconnect Power: Always turn off power to the fan at the circuit breaker before cleaning.
- Remove Grille: Gently pull down the grille. It is typically held by spring clips. Squeeze the clips to release the grille.
- Clean Grille: Wash the grille with mild soap and water. Rinse thoroughly and dry completely before reattaching.
- Clean Fan Interior: Use a vacuum cleaner with a brush attachment to remove dust and debris from the fan motor and housing. Do not spray water directly into the fan motor or electrical components.
- Reattach Grille: Align the grille with the fan housing and push it up until the spring clips secure it in place.
- Restore Power: Turn the power back on at the circuit breaker.
Note: Do not lubricate the motor. The motor is permanently lubricated and sealed.
